Title: Getting started in ducks on the Stilly
Post by: Stein on August 21, 2015, 09:44:14 AM
So, every duck season I lay in bed listening to the pop, pop, pop at daylight wondering what year I will take the plunge.

The biggest hurdle is that I have absolutely no idea how to get started and no friends that duck hunt.  I have a shotgun and waders, so there is a start.

If a guy wanted to hunt near my house in Arlington (Stilly river), is there anywhere I could read or research on how to go about doing that?  I literally have no idea where I would go or what I would do when I got there.  Shore, boat, who knows.

Also, if there is a duck hunter that would like to trade tagging along with him for a seat on my boat salmon fishing, let me know.

Assuming my current boat sells, I'm upgrading to an 1860 this year and should have plenty of extra room on my boat. Bump this thread when the season gets closer and I'll reach out!
