I took a drive down to tum tum to highway 231 last night to see what the deer were doing, lots of deer saw 60 or so, looking healthy down there, snow is much thinner there than up above in deer park.Bare under all the trees, getting some food.Did see a lone 5 pt bull too

my Dad lives out west of Deer Park on Ellsworth rd. He has all kinds of deer around his house. At least a dozen or so. He only has 8 acres and doesn't hunt his own property. The other half will not let him... He has a Cabelas tree stump that he fills with corn. A couple of nice 4 point bucks and a little two point. He has quite a few turkeys hanging around also.

Any idea how much snow is up in the Cusick area? I have private land that I Fall Turkey hunt and next year thinking of trying for some deer. He has about 1100 or 1200 acres of good alfalfa, oats and pasture. Lots of deer!

They're not doing too well.  Lots of deer are using LeClerc Rd as their main trail because the snow is too deep off the plowed areas.  So, the winter kill is also going to include lots of roadkill...one a day between Conklin Meadows and Newport.

The snow is way too deep to reach any browse on the ground.

101 looks good, we never got as much snow as Spokane and its getting warm during the day melting the ridge lines out. Not seeing many deer but that's because I have not been going in the thick stuff looking. :chuckle: I've had about 20 sheds brought in by students. They seem to have lost them earlier this year. Maybe it will give them a little extra growth next year.  :chuckle: The next 15 days on the weather out look in this corner looks the same, mid 30's during the day 20's at night.

That is good news as I hunt right out of Curlew. I always worry about the winter kill.

They are doing good at my place in Republic.  Mule deer are starting to show up and all look healthy.  Some really nice bucks coming in.
