I am going to go modern-rifle hunting on the west side of Washington this year, and I am curious whether the Mount Adams/Mount St. Helen's area or the Lewis River area is better. What do you think?
-
It depends upon what you are hunting.

I'm going to be hunting elk.

I don't get it, the Lewis River is kind of in between Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams.

Yeah, that's what I thought. The Lewis River area IS the mt st helens/mt adams area.
-
I'm new to Washington, but thought that Lewis river was straight south from Seattle, and Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams was south east.

Get a Delorme'.

Sigh. Im just a WA noob !

Lewis river goes from St helens to adams...

Its a big unit. I hunt from Adams to St Helens. It also contains the packwood unit. If you have an idea of where you want to hunt i can PM and let you know if its any good. Be prepared for lots of hunters. If it snows early it will be a good year.
