I dont post that many pics or stories so i thought maybe i should contribute one.
This season i had big hopes on baggin a true 4 point blacktail. Spent quite a bit of time scouting and found a handful of very nice 4 points. Kept a tight lip on there location until archery season opened up. From the opener until December 28th i had pretty much the same story. A bunch of does, a few two points, and beautiful 3 point that i had in range multiple times but passed. I even started to get wore and beat down towards the end of the season and was only going out alittle.
Finally on the 28th i just wanted a jerky deer. James(bearhunter) and i were going to head out a few times but work schedule wouldnt allow it. So he gave Justin(hogsniper) the video camera and told us to get to work. Picked Justin up in the morning and tried two spots with no luck.
Finally heading home we stopped and he got permission to hunt someones property. After giving us the lay out of the land we hit the woods. Imediately we get on fresh tracks and beds. Two minutes in the woods and Justin spots a doe and then another. He gets the camera on her and i try to move to the right to get a clear lane but there is still alittle brush in my lane. So i walk a log and get on the other side. She is facing me and not about to turn broadside. So at 35 yards i off centered the chest a bit and let a arrow fly. In my eyes i thought my fletching hit alittle low.
I turn to Justin and tell him i think its a bit low, we fish hook out of the brush and see a huge blood trail in the snow. Look to the left and there she lay. Went about 30 yards and went down.
All in all i got a jerky deer and got another doe with the bow.

Right on!! At least you got your jerky, I can relate with you on passing up nice bucks waiting for the one you really want. Psychologically it can be brutal the closer you get to the end of season. ;)
There's always next year... the 3 point could be worthy and those 4pts will only get bigger. Anyhow, nice doe!

That was the biggest and craziest blood trail i have ever seen....That was a big ass doe also.....If James would just up load the video everyone could see the great shot you made on her....How was the meat??

I cut the backstraps into butterfly steaks and kept one small roast for lunch meat, i ended up with 38 pounds for pepperoni, jerky, and summer sausauge. Already got it back from dels.
Yeah i am anxious to see the video of the shot aswell because i still remember the shot looking low. She definately was a bleeder.
