If you knew me you would know that I am dead serious about using it for hunting. I know a lot of long flat gated roads.
Take it to the top chain it to a tree(as long as Bean Counter isn't around) :chuckle: hunt up to it road hunt back down. Nice and quiet. Us old guys got to think out of the box to compete with you young guys. 8)

You need a set wangs like this set to disperse the rain;

Some kind of camo paint job and a set of camo spinners, just to add a little bling bling and you'd have the hottest ride in camp!

Deer see blue that is maroon and it's mint. Leave it alone! No camo. No spinners.
Hey ghost that's 350 -400 dollar bike. Nice find.

I knew that. Because I been thinking about this idea a while.  I started out thinking a Rhodes car but they are 4k. So than I got the idea of the three wheels . I priced them and they were $400.00 and up.i told my wife the idea and she laughed. She is the G sale queen.
Today she walked up said there's your bike. Sure enough. Brand new. Gal was  Selling it because it would not fit through the bollards at city trail heads.

if you see something to shoot it is a lot easier to get off of quiet.
And if you want to stop and glass you can stay mounted. There is buttons on the hand brakes to lock them.

I hate walking long flat gravel roads.
I also have a idea of how to pull it if need be. With a yoke on the front fork.

I think it will be a grouse killer.

We will see.

I like it, but i wonder about the gear ratio. I'm liking a lower gear on that unit, There were options way back when, that allowed you to change from high to low with the kick of the pedal. Have you thought of that ? I had that on my bicycle.

Looks good Ghost I like it. Your next post better have a deer in the back seat of your new rig.  :chuckle:
I would add a small tire pump and a pocket patch kit. Bell makes a pump that is under 10 inches long that works great, I think I paid about $10 for mine.

Its true it has one gear. I been thinking about one of these a while now. And I have a idea how to pull it up some of those short bumps. I am thinking of a yoke like the front fork, bolted on the front tire hubs. There is just enough room. with a rope sling. It would hinge up towards the handle bars when not in use.

But for  the most part this is a gated flat road option or a hunt down option.
It has two sprockets and I think it pedals easier than a two wheel bike. My wife thinks so too. For some reason standing up on the pedals is difficult.

Yeah but i got to move it . The gun rack is against it so it wont ding. The bell is the icing when folks are standing along the road laughing like my wife tonight. Ding Ding when you go by equals up yours. :chuckle:

Yeah the pump is on my list. Bought some tire slim for repairs its in the pouch along with a few basic tools.

I am thinking about lining the basket with some congregated poster board (black) just to keep road splash of my pack.

Ummmm
Nope

Another hint
Two years ago when was thinking about a three wheel pedal i knew this old fat guy was not going to pedal a single speed bike very far up some of the little bumps on my hunting roads. Ahhh What to do?

We have a winner. 2labs

Yep

I woke up in the middle of the night. Do some of my best thinking while I sleep. And said you have to attach something to the front forks to tow it. Has to be light and compact.
So I went over to the hardware store tonight and cruised the isles.

Burned up some serious brain matter. Ended up in the lawn sprinkler dept.  First I found the fitting to go around a tube, they called it a riser saddle. Than some plastic risers couple couplings.
Got home and saw it would not work on the front fork but fit perfect on the handle bar.

Did some adjustments and presto Tow Handle. Works great in the drive way.

Come along about 4 ft behind me.
Cant wait to give it a try in the  real world. I know just the road for the shake down and some grouse too.

I bet you could get a few gears on that thing. you may not be able to put any in the back where it is the most beneficial, however you likely can do it up front, and some gearing is better than none. Time to look at what brand of running gear that stuff has and how its more easily adapted to new rigs.

Took it turkey hunting this past week . Was a lot of fun on the gated roads. Not as easy to ride has you would think. Cannot lean it, have to steer it.
Crashed off the road once and went over the handle bars. But all ok.

:chuckle: jeez Ghost ! How fast were you going that you learned it doesn't lean!?!?!?

I am glad you're ok but for some reason envisioning you trying to knee drag a corner on that tri cycle made my day! :chuckle:

I think you should swap out the bell for a hoochie mama elk call,  Just give it a little squeeze as you are cruising around.  :)

I was pedaling along as fast as I could go and hit a rut the road was just wide enough for one pick up went right off the edge.

Many years ago my grandmother bought one of those.  Honestly, the most difficult bike to pedal that I have ever tried.  Perhaps things have changed?

Well you can't take one hand off the handle ,toodal along. Not in a gated gravel road application.
But I am getting the feel for it.
It has sure improved my travel over those long flat gated road. And saves me a lot of scouting time.

I think I would prefer this setup.......... stealth bike but still classed as "non-motorized" in most areas including national parks.

Post by: ghosthunter on May 24, 2016, 11:36:09 AM
you might look into getting some over sized tires for it, that should help a little with the handling.  Other than that maybe a bag for your head, so no one can prove it was you riding it :)

My buddies laughed it up. Until I passed them on the 40 minute hike out and sat for 30 minutes drinking a cold Pepsi :chuckle: at the truck until they caught up.

Im jealous up to taking that thing up a hill.  If you could get gearing on that thing  :IBCOOL:.  Idk about you but all of my hunts involve going up hill on the way in, so being able to load that thing up with meat for the trip out ... WOOO!

That's a hell of a rig  maybe you can find a kit for it so you can shift ? I bet you could manipulate that off of a old mountain bike! I have some extra old mountain bikes you can have to try

Might be able to hook a few trailers behind that thing.  Get some practice at the Sedro parade coming up.  It won't quite be the Shriners set up, but it will work.
