If the camera is on the west side, I say mountain beaver.

I'm 99% sure it's mountain beaver after zooming in.  You can make out its eyes looking at the camera, and it's ears.

I've never seen a mountain beaver.  Are they pretty prevalant on the west side?  Had to look them up to learn more about them....

cougarbart has it, stiff tail wind fluffing up all that hair.  The camera downwind is a good thing

:yeah:
My neighbor has been getting those on his cam.

Could also be a Nutria. The population of those are growing up here.

Skunk. Look how the tail is all up in the air as it walks

Hmm really? you see a tail? AND you think its walking not facing the camera with it's head down?   :dunno: This might explain a lot about some of your other posts  :o

I do not see the tail as being up in the air, but Ill agree that it looks like a striped skunk walking the other direction. Notice the stripe coming off of the right shoulder (remember it is facing away from the camera).

Ok I'll admit it may be facing away from the camera but ...  :dunno:  it seems to me that skunks have a lot more white in their tails even when they are down  :dunno: also to me that spot on its side looks like the flash of the camera shining off its fur not a stripe  :twocents:

Skunks have a huge variation in color pattern and amount of white on them especially in the tail. Just do a google image search of striped skunk and you'll see what I mean. Hard to say for certain though it isn't the best shot.

that is a skunk with its tail up, head down walking away from the camera.  I can see it just fine.  I encounter skunks in the darkhere at my house a couple times a year, and I catch them in a live trap by my chicken coop 3 or 4 times a year and usually let them go.   I dont know what makes you so self-rightous, but you can have your own opinion without insulting me.  If you disagree with one of my other posts the use facts to prove me wrong. But you haven't. And your wrong about this pic too.  Grow up.

You could have kept your post focused on the subject matter of the original post, instead you used your comments to come out of nowhere and insult me because you disagree with other posts I made on other threads. As a result you have now derailed this thread. Get a life.  8f you have issue with me then take it up with me in a personal message. No need to use this guys thread about a picture to try and stab at me.   What are you,   5?

Who derailed this thread? I simply asked if that's the way you saw it? Hmm? Again perhaps you should have taken your own advise and PM'ed me cause I have no idea about another thread you are talking about  :dunno:

No biggie I really didn't see a tail cause I was so fixed on it facing the camera but I see what you mean by looking at it from your perspective!
