Title: Rattle bags VS. Antlers
Post by: edmondshunter on September 22, 2007, 02:12:01 PM
Which is better?  I use a BowTech rattle bag, its compact doesn't weigh much and is easy to  pack.  Ive had limited luck with it pre-rut.  Would I be better off with real antlers?

Rattlebags sound pretty good, but I'm a real bone man.

Does the size of the rattle bag matter?

I'm not sure if they come in different sizes.   I use medium sized antlers.

i've never used a rattle bag...kind of takes away from the coolness factor for me. i use a smallish set of 4x4 whitetail horns for rattling. makes it easier to tick the horns or full-bore rattle, rake brush, etc. stuff you can't do with a bag.  i cut the eyeguards off to avoid poking my hands.

I've used the rattle bag with zero success...sure it's easy to pack, but it's just not worth it.I'm positive the deer know the difference.
