Today my wife, I, and my one year old son are making the 900 mile drive to Wyoming for an antelope hunt. To say the least I'm excited. Today will be all driving, then two days scouting. Saturday season opens  This area is easy to draw with some trophy potential. I will post up pics as it unfolds :whoo:

Good luck! Have a great time!

Here's a few pics from today. The best buck I seen would not let me get a picture. None of these are real big two might break 78". One buck was super tall and very light horned. The last picture, I seen over a hundred in that class today. I also was checked by the game warden today, one of these that I'm posting walked out while we talked.

Nice looking bucks, Good luck

I'd be happy with any of those, looks like you'll have plenty of meat in the coolers for the trip home.

I found a couple freaks today. This one let me takes some photos. The other would not. If you can't find a big one go after an ugly one👍

I remember my first Wyoming antelope hunt. I was the first in our party to tag a buck; I got mine opening morning.
The others held out for bigger, but I still had #2 in group.
Awesome pics and you had a successful trip.

This buck was hanging in a 1000 yard by 1000 yard area while I was scouting. I seen him three times, and I took photos of him twice thru the spotting scope. In two days of scouting day light tell dark I looked over 300+ bucks. I narrowed it to this buck as my first choice, then a freak that curled forward as my second choice. I was glossing at daylight on the opener where this buck had been hanging. About a half hour later I located him about 800 yards away. I saw a ridge I could use to stay out of sight and get into range. When I looked over the ridge for him figuring I would be in range he had fed off and was still about 800 yards away. So I ducked down and pursued him again. The next time I looked he was on my left at about 500 yards and I had a small herd of antelope 125 yards to my right.when they seen me they took off after a few minutes. When my buck seen them run, he came on a dead run at me. I sat down set up my shooting sticks and when he stopped in a draw at 90 yards I shot over his back. The dirt flew up just behind him so he turned and ran at me stopping at about 60 yards. This time I made it count.
I feel blessed being able to have my family on this adventure :IBCOOL:

-
That is the one I woulda picked. Cool goat.
-
Congrats one your sped goat!
How long did it take you to draw that tag?
-
I can usually draw this area every other year. If you are after an enjoyable hunt look for an area with lots of public and put in. If you are after a trophy I would wait a few years. I seen three big bucks and this is before season was going. I feel the one I shot is the best I seen this year.
