Not sure this has been brought up, probably has, but I'm curious everyone's thoughts on bugling and calling these elk in before you are planning on hunting them.
Seems to me that you are just educating them to your sound and if you are out there during the archery season and you are muzzy or rifle, you are also messing with other hunters that are out there trying to call and get their tags filled.
I've been out in woods during my season and had guys not hunting screaming at the elk all morning.
Just a thought. I would think if only the guys hunting were the ones calling them we would all be better off. :dunno:

Wishful thinking I think. About all you can do is move further away from people. The same thing happens with turkey hunting , people out calling all year long wanting to see if they can call one in.
Although you not going to like us , our camp wake up call for all our camps is a bull elk bugle.

I've had guys pull into my driveway and bugle at the elk in my field.

Haven't pulled my bugle out while in camp or even packed it on a scouting trip :dunno:
