Looks like a great way to get started with open reed calls! Nice job Rick.

So what is this "every thing you need to call predators" mean for a noob who may be interested in getting started with predator calling and/or hunting? Specifically, what types of animals that can be simulated or called, and what resource might you recommend to go along with such a set?
I might be in for a set. Money order work? Payment instructions?
Thanks.

Yes the YDD2 on the left will do killer Howl's and loud distress. The call on the right is a YDD3 it do's sweet distress, pup distress and elk. These calls will do great on coyotes. I leave in the morning for the coast for some bear, cougar and coyote calling. I will get a video on using the calls. click on my website my address is there or I take pay pal. Rick

By moving the call around and changing where your teeth are, blowing differently, cupping the call or leaving it open. You change the sound, the rythm, the volume. The raspiness. The guy using the call.
Personally I do not buy into the theory of immitating a specific animal I think you create a sound that is different and that difference is what attracts a coyote. I do not think coyotes sit around and say, hmmm that sounds like a rabbit, or a fawn, no mabbe a squirrel, or mabbe a bird. it is more like hmmm sounds like it is hurt, I'll eat it, and I'll eat anything..
People use sounds of animals from Africa/Asia, sounds never heard by a coyote here.
Ricks calls are great, and can make any sound you want.

You do not blow a call you play it

I agree. I think distress (ouch, I am hurt) is distress. Though I do like referencing cottontail, jackrabbit, fawn, etc to help describe the sound.
