i dont know how to post pics yet still learning, but there just a set of four by fours with some garbage on the right side, its a bench buck but i figure that any one of those three will do, the size that im looking for is from nose to front cover of eye around 5 to 5 1/2 and circufernces of the neck around 15 1/2 to 18 1/2 the guy dosent have a whole of room so he asked if i could mount as a little bit of a smaller body deer so i said why not....thanks

5" - 5 1/2". You mounting a fawn? An 18" Blacktail Cape will normally be around 6" - 6 1/4" eye to nose. Mule Deer and Bench Bucks will normally have 6 1/4 - 6 1/2" eye to nose.
You don't want the deer to look like a giraff with a big rack. Seeing the horns and some measurments of the antlers would really help. I wouldn't mount it on anything less than 18" Cape.

bowhunter/taxidermest,
Where do you measure your capes? McKenzie C, B, or D measurment?

I am talking about where you measure your necks?
-
three inches down from the ears, sorry bout that i didnt fully unerstand the question maybe i still dont? :dunno: :chuckle:
-
That is what I am looking for.
-
ok good i wasnt quite sure what you were looking for there my mistake you clearfied it just fine, my misunderstanding
-
The reason I ask is every taxidermist measures their capes differntly. A 21" cape to you might be a 19" cape to me and vise versa. Some measure tight under the chin and some measure the swell.

ya that is true i understand that now im getting one from bearhunter soo im taking care of fo0r now
