Post them up for Radsav.

Tagging :)
-
I've been bad about taking good in the field pictures this year but so far I've filled two tags. Cow elk and an antlerless deer tag.
-
No field pics but put me down for a doe with old school Contenders
-
I've been shooting 125 grain titanium heads with solid blades.
-
MLB starts this thread and then doesn't post his fabulous critters. What's up with that?

Mine this year. Not much but its something.
I remember my first few deer, elk and bear. Nothing spectacular about any of them, but to me they were exciting reflections of all my hard work. I learned so much from those early hunts. And not one of them came easy. It's been 35 years since I shot that first deer, 34 years since that second deer, first elk and first bear. I worked and practiced and studied and scouted and sharpened broadheads daily...it was the foundation of what has become a life's work. I am who I am today in large part because of those first few deer. Don't ever think they are "Not much". They are the beginning of something great! That becomes more special with every season that passes. Especially when you get old enough to start seeing glimpses of the end.
Today there is way too much emphasis on size and score. So much so that I think many are missing out on what it is to be a bowhunter. Especially in those early years. I remember the smell of my arrows being fletched - I don't smell that anymore. I remember the sting of the string against my wrist - I don't feel that anymore. I remember the sound of my heart beat in my mouth - I haven't heard that in years. I remember laying awake as the clock ticked so slow during that endless night before opening day - These days I don't even have a clock and often get up late opening day. I remember feeling the dirt, the taste of licking the water off my arrows, sniffing a blood trail, hair standing up on the back of my neck, experiencing slow motion during a kill shot, excitement, anticipation, agony of a miss and the uncontrollable shakes after a well placed arrow from five feet. That's what bowhunting is all about.
Make's me sad I no longer see, smell and feel things the way I did in the beginning. It had absolutely nothing to do with antler size or score. It was the adventure experienced through the eyes of a newborn bowhunter. I wouldn't trade those things for all the fame of a dozen state records.
Today shooting a doe or young buck during early season doesn't mean much to me. But, once upon a time, that meant everything. That sort of makes me jealous of you Smossy. I'm happy for you and that delicious looking deer. Congratulations on a job well done! And thank you for trusting Savora broadheads to get your tag filled

I think H-W has gotten tight on blocking downloads of photos out of size. I'll post a few from my phone. Hope that's ok. As I understand it both are taken with the VanDyke 100
A 7X4 bull is crazy!!

When your right your right. Few negarive experiences have kind of taken a dump on my pride. Lack motivation to even get out hunting as much as I'd like to. Hunting is hard for sure. Blessed to be at a point in my life now though to where I have the freedom to try.
I'm sure ill appreciate more and more as things come to past. You never realize what you have or had untill its gone. Lifes great lesson. Thanks for supporting me and many others Rad. Savoras a great company Ill stand by for life. Rad though. Mehhh.
Lol jusst kidding.

This should be required reading for all of us and made into a sticky. Thanks for that RadSav

I shot a coyote next to my chicken pen with one :dunno:
I hope to have an elk, Savora kill in the late season. I've got a quiver full of VanDyke's that are ready to run!

Mine this year.
Why are there no Smoochy wraps on those arrows? I thought SG was set up to make those.

Cause they're on my 4 fletch arrows. Using my old arrows before I lose all my new ones.

I've been shooting 125 grain titanium heads with solid blades.
Can I get some of these rad? Things look wicked. Does the solid blade make it drift in a stiff wind anymore than a vented blade? Thanks for sharing the passion rad.

Solid blades usually fly better within reasonable size. Think of it as a car driving across a bridge during a wind storm. Is that car more aerodynamic with the windows rolled up or down?

Please tell you are mounting that blacktail that is a beautifull buck and I would get him scored that might be Pope and Young
-
Doing euro mount & never thought about scoring but couldn't hurt
-
Went kinda new old school. Ti-con 100.... Performed quite nicely. No blood trail required, although started blood nice and quick for non pass thru shot. Very satisfied. Will definitely shoot again.

Sweet!

That I like.

I can't seem to get any savoras :( no luck yet this year anyway.

What?

Tried all the hunt wa options never got a response . No stores near me carry them. :dunno:

Hit up Phelps right now.

Here ya go MLB.....
-
Hit up Phelps right now.
You can order from Phelps off his website. They continue to fill orders even if he is in the back country.
-
Thank you BVB appreciate it man.
-
Tried carp and Jason. Don't think I'm gonna have any more bow opportunity this year. I'll give em a shot next year.
-
Really?
-
I don't know when you sent me a message. I never got one if you sent me one :dunno:
-
It's not a big deal was in July or early august.
-
Well I have tons of them sitting here. If I don't respond send another message. I always try to get back to everyone and if I don't respond sometimes they don't always come through.
-
:yeah:
-
Sorry for all the trouble Scottcrb. Think that was about the time Carps rugrat came along and Phelps has a full time job making it difficult some times. Phelps site is always running when he isn't around and we all know Carp is a HW addict so PM's normally work great with him. We also have heads at 50% of the stores in WA - maybe more. Also plenty of names come up with Bing and Google searches. Jake's Archery is a quick ship with a large employee structure. Never known them to ship late or not answer the phone.
Just be careful of Ebay and Amazon. Not sure how those things work, but many of those sellers are not licensed dealers. Most have zero stock on hand. They advertise insane pricing and then say "Oops, we are out of stock. Can we interest you in a Slick Trick or a Muzzy?" I saw the other day that even Wal-Mart was advertising our product online. We have NEVER sold Wal-Mart any RAD product. They say it will drop ship. I researched a few of the ship[ points and they are not licensed dealers. Pretty much the same ship points as Amazon that are causing BIG problems throughout the shooting sports industry.
I have enjoyed many of the opportunities that Amazon provides. But RAD products seem like something you should hit Carp, Jake's, Phelps, xXx, Archery World or one of our many direct dealers with. Might really save some headaches in the future.
-
Man that's random rad. Gotta bait people in w your product and switch to something else cause they can't sell your product? Isn't that illegal? I'd be pissed if other company's could advertise my services then when my clients called they sold them theirs... A few formal letters would be going out.
-

Legitimate dealers have been fighting this hard this year. Archery Range & Retailers Organization (ARRO) seems to be going on offense with it this year too. I know when I submitted our annual application one of the first questions they asked is if we sold to Amazon. Could have been an expensive deal breaker for us if we had been. They are not taking this lightly - so it's not just us! Virtual Store fronts are easy ways for people to start businesses that seem legit, but aren't. It's gone on unchecked for awhile now. Thinking things may be about to change as organizations start to fight it. Time will tell :dunno:
-
Yeah I was guessing the message may have not gone through or gotten lost. Like I said wasn't a big deal still had some unfired slick tricks .just wanted to check em out and support rad . Never tried Jasons website would have been a good idea. Carp has always gotten back to me really quickly in the past and I'm guessing the message never went through. I'll try again in the spring. Thanks guys .
-
Yesterday's TiCon kill for my son. Unfortunately, the one I shot fifteen minutes later from the same blind, was not recovered. >:( :'(
The recovered deer was a pass through at 10 yards with a crossbow (bolt still unaccounted for), the unrecovered one was a pass through, same distance, but I think the outgoing side went through the shoulder blade and did not fall out until the deer went about 20 yards.
Thanks Radsav for providing your second cousin twice removed (Zoltan) with the pointy end of his sticks.... :)
-
So what I think you are saying is...Zoltan is way better than you!? :chuckle:
Isn't that every father's wish?
-
You do know I will have nightmares for a week now. I think animals lost by others using our products is even worse than an animal lost by my own failure. I suffer from the "What Ifs" terrible after hearing news like this. Sorry for your poor experience.
This is the first chest shot failure that I have heard of with that product. If you could PM me with every detail you can think of, while it is fresh in your mind, I would sure appreciate it.
BTW - 2016 we will be adding two ferrules specifically made to fit crossbow bolts. One will be a modification of the Triple Sec. and the other a hybrid between the Triple Sec. and the UltraCon. I will send a second cousin twice removed care package as soon as they are complete.
We will also be making a modification on two titanium ferrules for use with Easton Deep Six shafts. Titanium is really darn near a perfect material for those smaller RPS systems!

Probably my biggest bucket list dream right there
It was my #1 until September 19th.
Your broadheads are spectacular. I can't say enough about how well built and sharp they are. The old fingertip spin test blew me away. I have had what I thought were nice spinning broadheads until I put one of yours on. Thanks
-
Rad......gotta feel good seeing these pics. I know getting my first slug back from my own reloads was cool....these guys and gals taking your product out there and putting the smack down is pretty cool.
-
We just finished our discussions with Easton this week. So in a few weeks we will start finalizing the Deep Six version of the DelMastro and Vandyke heads! This is a project I am very excited about. Titanium really is the ultimate answer to the weaknesses of the 6-32 thread idea. And...the super short blades and ferrule will really assist the flight benefits of those ultra slim shafts. Looks like both CL and Del are considering shooting those next season. I might need to make special inserts for Del if he continues to shoot Carbon Express. But I think that Pile Driver Pass Thru will be wicked with a Deep Six insert. I can't wait to shoot them in the ACC Injexion. Going to be a fun year!
Other things coming this year will be;
A Deep Six Ti-Con 100
A Hybrid 125 grain head that utilizes the MadMan tip on an Ultra-Con ferrule. It's been crazy good in testing the past two years!
Same Hybrid as above but with an 11/32" ferrule diameter for use with Crossbows or larger aluminum shafts.
A MadMan ferrule with 11/32" ferrule for Crossbow bolts and aluminum arrows.
All MadMan ferrules will have an identical look to the scalloped TripleSec just without the screw and third locking point. This will be in 5/pk at the same or close to same price!!!
Return of the original "Contender 100" 5/pk same price as MadMan 5/pk
Separate ferrule for all 85 grain heads. This will allow us to use stainless weight collars instead of aluminum.
All 4 blade MadMan ferrules will also be scalloped with stainless collars and available in 5/pk.
Finally we have never stopped working on improving the blade machine, dies and grinding wheels. Still a work in progress but I am confident blades are just going to get better and sharper was we move forward.
In legal patent research right now is a titanium expandable head and a special design that may get an MLBowhunting Signature name. Both those, assuming no patent infringements, will be in full testing during 2016 with a 2017 release if testing proves advantageous.
-
Sounds like a bunch of good news
-
Couldn't be happier man. Love to watch a company that seemed to almost dissapear grow and make a huge comeback, and at the same time watching a good friend accomplish and build something he's envisioned. Glad to be witness to it.
-
I may start making some D6 inserts for the A/C/G and smaller A/C/C shafts too. The smaller shafts are really great for women and kids. Easton seems to have sort of forgotten about them and quality shafts recently. I'd really like to get the wife shooting the 3-18 or 3-18L shaft. It's not something I plan to add to the catalog, but if some of the women out there want a premium shaft I might have D6 inserts available next year. Our new shop will be operational by then so it could be worth a PM and ask.
I'm still a good bit peeved about the A/C/C Pro Hunter shafts being discontinued. I complain about that on a regular basis when talking to anyone from Easton. Others should do the same! Maybe with the new shop and the D6 products we can find suitable A/C options between the Injexion and target offerings for those of us who were big fans of the Pro Hunter series.
-
For all the Savora shooters this would be a perfect time to use it on one of the biggest animals in North America. Buffalo hunts with a bow I have two buffalo in my trophy room your missing out.

Would be nice to see you put a nice set of antlers on the ground. Especially since Del, Lorraine and myself have failed to do so this year. We are all in a BAD mood :chuckle:

Opening day doe. had to wait a whole 20 minutes for her to come in! :yike: :dunno: :chuckle: Savora Triple Sec LPS in purple. Spined her and the blades were still perfect! :yike: put another through her lungs to seal the deal. Any chance of a HPS blade in the future? The LPS worked great, but that little bit more cutting diameter could be interesting?
2011 Martin Onza 3, Easton XX75 2215, 4" left feathers, white wrap, tightspot quiver
My daughter has been hunting with me for 4 years now. She's a heck of a good luck charm!
-
I doubt an HPS blade will be a reality in the near future. Would be cool and likely a good head, but the solid blade market is very small. Hard to give away a solid blade to whitetail hunters back east.
Looks like 1" is doing just fine for you, ML Bowhunting, D-Rock, CL, the Phelps crew, the Angry Squaw and a growing number of other western bowhunters. Not going to say, "Never". But I do not see it happening any time soon.
Congratulations on your success! And thank you for posting your pic on this thread.

Nice job

A modern tag hunter can hunt with one during modern seasons. Also, hunters with disabilities can request authorization to use them under certain conditions.

I believe handicap hunters and hunters hunting in a firearm restricted area can use cross bows.

I think crossbows are legal in any modern firearm season. They changed the law this year.

Just curious: How does one get to hunt with a cross bow in WA?
I believe handicap hunters and hunters hunting in a firearm restricted area can use cross bows.
I think crossbows are legal in any modern firearm season. They changed the law this year.
Yup

Here is Jon Gabrios whitetail (DelMastro 100 HPV) and my Muley (VanDyke 100 LPS) from the Washington late season.

Well I am a believer now ! This year has been crazy and the most fun I had in years . Was not about me , it was all about family . I seen more nice bucks this year than I have in along time .
My main goal this year was getting my son a good buck with his bow ..We have hunted some of the nasty brush known to man but I learn more and more every time I step into the woods . These bucks dig into the nastiest stuff they can find this time of year and you have to put in the effort to 1st find them and see them and then lucky enough to kill him .. I have hunted this area for years , sitting on trails and stalking the out skirts ..This time we headed right for them .. Right in their living room ..It was steep and nasty but once we figured it out it took about 2 hours to get it done ..
It was about 1:15 when we headed toward the bottom part of this huge alder patch ..by 2;30 we have seen 11 deer ...one huge 2 pt but he took off as soon as Kyle went for an arrow ...at 3:30 ish we headed out this grade and as we rounded a corner this bad boy stands up and 25 yrds down hill ... He looked huge ..That rack and that white face will be in my mind for along time ..I tell kyle he is only 25 yrds ...KILL HIM ...No I was not that calm ...that deer should have turned inside out and took off but he just stood there ...This never happens to me ...Kyle was not calm either . He could not get the release hooked on his string loop ...hahaha This buck is not moving and finally he is at full draw ...I am praying this is going down in the history books and WHACK ...Straight threw the shoulder like no mans business ...Complete pass threw ....I am hoping this Savora head held up ! It did ! I instantly find the arrow ..Everything is intact and covered in blood .. The shoulder shot was not intentional but that's where he hit ! It was awesome !!! Thanks again Radsav !!! Hopefully I can find another one before Wednesday ! I really do not care if I do but I will not pass one up if he pops up ! JB will retire his Wasp for sure now !!!! Lmao I think I am using the Pink one 1st !
-
Awesome buck! congrats.

That's a two elk year for mlbowhunter.
MLB is now known as Elkslayer😄. I got to witness MLB in action with these broad heads. Very impressive!

Last day hunting with our best friend and the wife decided to take a meat doe to end the season. 50 yards from her 50# Kobalt shooting the TripleSec with solid Vandyke blades. Took out both those big bones. Not sure I have ever seen bones blow up like that before. Those little heads and large point are crazy! Arrow and about five large bone fragments were laying on the ground right where the deer stood on impact. Nice when no blood trailing is needed!
Congratulations to Kyle  That's what we call a MASHER of a buck :chuckle:
-
Congrats to all of you guys.

I hunted 14 days with three weapons on my multi season permit trying to kill a respectable buck. Passed over a dozen legal bucks. I said at the beginning of the season that I was going to kill a good 4pt and if not, a meat doe on the last day of the last season. Couldn't be happier with the season as a whole. 33 yards, quartering away. Broke the offside leg bone on the way out. One of the blades is just slightly bent. Same arrow and broadhead that zipped through my cow last weekend (new blades of course).
-
Awesome!
-
Love it. Ferrule looks perfect

Oh ya it was a thing of beauty! Could have put new blades in it and shot another. I would have spin tested it but I visited the Veterans cemetery on my way home and left my arrow with Aaron. I bring him a rock from the kill sites from all my hunts, but I felt a bloody arrow shot from his bow was fitting.

BLR way to go man.

BLR

Probably could have put that ferrule through another dozen critters. Those titanium ferrules are pretty tough! We have broken the chisel off the front slamming them into rock and they still spin true.
Hope the grounds keepers at the cemetery don't freak out finding a bloody arrow there. Pretty cool

I think they have grown accustomed to finding strange and random items. We keep them well stocked in coors light and Copenhagen so they don't complain too much. :chuckle:
-
I can see them not complaining about Copenhagen, rocks and bloody arrows, but Coors light...that could cause outrage! :puke: :chuckle: :chuckle:

125gr TiCon.
You know Mark Mathieson and I designed that blade back in the early 90's (back then it was a .020" blade). I've designed a lot of heads and blades since then and that is still the one I turn to when things get serious! Short enough to give good flight - even with fast bow speeds, steep enough blade angle to still cut when blades start to dull on long pass throughs, yet still long enough that it penetrates like it only strikes butter, and the .025" thickness just seems to sharpen so much better than .030" does. Easily my personal favorite in the RAD/Savora line.

Awesome shooting on the deer! That was not an easy shot to make. And I'm glad you had time to make that pit stop on the way home!

Guess I can add mine.

No kidding rad! I used a rage extreme on my buck and didn't have half the blood.
I am sold on these ti con heads!

Put another elk on the board courtesy of the Savora ti-con. I don't go into the woods intending to test the limits of my gear choices when it comes broadhead selection, but this shot did. My execution was good, but my yardage estimation was off by 6 yards or better resulting in a lower hit than my point of aim. Flawless broadhead performance. Insanely good flight on a tight shot, steep quartering shot angle and excellent cutting performance and edge retention after contact. The results speak for themselves.
-
BVB awesome job man!!
-
Good job men ... had my chance yesterday on a good blacktail but blew it ....had a lot of fun this season !

That is the old profile of Savora head ...The only thing missing back in the day was the chiseled tip ...To me the chiseled tip makes all the difference in the world ...Good job on the meat doe !!

Sportsmens Warehouse has some Savora broadheads in the Puyallup store. Madman and Triple Secs
