I have a whisker biscuit on my Mathews Dr2 it's my first and only bow so far. I bought it used and the guy was shooting Beaman 400 grain with three fletchings. I would like to continue to use the whisker biscuit because of the simplicity of it. My question is should I be running an arrow with 4 fletchings? Sorry I'm still learning . Thanks Jason

You can use either, it's all personal preference. Just remember though, the more fletching you add, the more drag you create.
One other tip, once you have your fletching choice made, you can trim a couple rows off whiskers, right where the fletching hits, this will allow the fletching to go through the whiskers without hitting, also reducing drag. ;)

I never noticed a difference between 3 or 4 fletched arrows. Just as long as your vanes don't run through the black whiskers a four fletch should work. Are you shooting blazer vanes?

I'm looking to get new arrows . The ones I have are hammered. Any suggestions? I'm open to three or four fletchings. Three seems to make more sense.

It sounds like you need to find an archery shop and go start a relationship. Where do you live? A good archery shop can make all the difference in your shooting.

Three or four should make no difference. As mentioned above, just keep the vanes out of the black. We've been using four Blazers out of the biscuit for at least a decade. Never an issue! The difference in drag is seen in the first ten yards. Then, with modern bows, again around 90 yards. So I would never let difference in 3-vs-4 drag influence my fletching decision.
Our personal choices around here are either 4 Blazers or 3 AAE MaxHunters. Neither seems any better than the other in regards to flight. Though MaxHunters do seem to be a little large for the biscuit and/or four fletch.

There are other simple to use rests that arent whisker biscuits. My wifes bow had one to start and after late season last year that thing got torn off and thrown away. They are loud when drawing ESPECIALLY when its cold. Every time she drew back the deer spooked because it really was that loud. I was mad at how ridiculously loud it was. If you plan on hunting just buy a decent one now and get used to it. My wife didnt like the idea of a drop away cause if she had to let down she was worried about the arrow. So I bought he one that rotates when shot and the arrow is sort of locked in but rotates out of the way when shot. Its actually super quiet and she has practiced drawing on every deer this year so far and has not been busted. It was only $35 also. I can see if I can find the bame of it later if you think you might want to check it out.
