Here's mine right when I got to him. Luckily that log was there and stopped him from rolling down the hill farther! Was steep!(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F15%2F10%2F22%2F76e6ace9040b4c98608afc5b3cac88da.jpg&hash=ebabf542d9abd0f9db82de7cbd7f77aec0175a70)

After a 405 yard shot with my 338 made a complete pass through and put him down instantly.
-
My Winthrop buck from the evening of the 21st. I had planned on hunting till the 25th, but my hunt ended quickly when this guy appeared just before 6pm, following 2 does. A neck shot at 80 yards, he crumpled immediately and I found him like this, kind of in a pretzel shape. Second photo shows him after I straightened him out. Everyone in our group saw a lot of deer and many saw legal bucks but no shot opportunities.

It thought so too, until that giant Mulie got posted below me ha. Just hunting a Rub line last Fri, I knew there was a good buck in the area from the sign but hadn't ever seen him. I put in the time, and eventually he made the mistake of following a doe through an opening about 150yds away, and that was all she wrote.

October 28th Southwest WA blacktail!
-
Here's one from last week. I thought I made a good shot, but didn't hear a 'whack' and only got refocused in time to see some movement going into the brush. Glassed and glassed to pick up any movement or color, but couldn't see a thing so just watched the scene for awhile. The does didn't know where to go and were milling around. Eventually one doe wandered back over to the original spot, and she couldn't take her eyes off the bushes. Head would bob up and down, but she was glued on that thicket, like, "what's that stinky thing in there"? I then grabbed my pack and walked down the slope....
-

I don't know for sure. Had to break him down and pack him out solo. My pack was 109lbs at the house not counting the head.
Probably around 225-240 live if I had to guess. :dunno:
My knees still hurt. Lol
-
Pretty swollen too.
-
Those horns are sweet you can tell he's got a salamander neck nice mature Blacktail STUD for sure
-
Pretty swollen too.
Was he trying to take a nap on your pack when you shot him? :chuckle: He had a gun and a knife too, I'd have shot him as well.

Ok, ok, I know i'm bending the rules of the "ATL", but I thought these were a couple of neat pics. They obviously were not a true as they lay, they were drug a little ways, not far though. The first one is last year in WY, and the second is this years bucks. The neat thing is that the two pictures were less than 50yards apart.
