Good luck.  I'd be torn between a shoulder mount and doing a rug.  I've seen two here on the island, one fawn a few years ago and a doe just this last Spring.  They had different patterns.

I'm thinking fully body mount... Be pretty cool in the mancave.

Maybe that is why it is piebald?  a little funny genetics perhaps?  lol.  good luck RT.  I have seen several piebalds in my life including some albinos, but never had a shot a legal buck that is piebald.  Would make a taxidermy conversation piece for life.

My guess is if it is taking this long he might be worried that the third point isn't 1" long and it is really just a 2x2.

Just giving you a hard time.

I hope you find him and knock him down.

I fell on Sunday, worst fall Ive ever had! Laid on my back in the woods for an hour before a Buddy came by within a 100 yards. Had to whistle at him to get his attention. Limped back to the truck , and before going yo the ER I fired my rum because the scope is now dented up.  Still holds its zero!  Been on ghe couch ever since with a severe sprained right ankle and knee.   As soon as I can put pressure on it im going back up

Two things I hate about getting older... 1. Gravity seems to be stronger than when I was younger. 2. It takes a lot longer to get back up after gravity does it's thing.

Feel better quick and get after that buck.

There is that stud 3x3 (okay, 2x2 with eyeguards) that also hangs out in the area if you want to punch your tag on something while waiting for rt. :chuckle:

Hope you get your piebald.  I have a piebald doe on cam.  Just a weird looking animal.  It's only the back half that has white patches and she isn't scared of us, as we've walked up on her w/in a few yards before.  But she's a midget.  Probably 1-1/2 or 2 years old, and stubby legs like a pygmy deer.

Was it the one he was after or a different one?  Two in one area would be odd.

Nice deer......

Its a genetic marker that causes the to be mostly white with some dark spots. I believe its an analogous condition to albino (humans) in Africa. I've never heard of a game department trying to protect such wildlife so I don't think its something that they seek to preserve, genetically speaking.

Sometimes all you need is a little luck!  With my ankle being badly hurt I said I was still gonna try.  Went up friday and seen a few deer, all I could do was watch a clearcut because I could not hike at all.  Same thing saturday seen deer but no shooters.

So this am I slept in (ankle said enough is enough).  Packed up camp, packed my rifle and bullets and left about 10 am headed for home.  I spot a doe bedded up as I was driving down the forest road and look behind her and all I could see was antlers!  That truck and trailer came to ALL HALT!!! I jump out dig out my rifle, found a bullet and steadied up on the buck.  He just stood there at 75 yards with no care in the world..  He had 8 does and one of them was blocking his boiler room.  Im thinkinghe is gonna bolt at any second and I snuck one high behind his neck and above the shoulder.  Boom! Dirt nap!!! Notice the red blood where I shot him.  It was that or in the head, didnt want to mess up his horns.  The .300 RUM tends to tear stuff up bad..

My 500 sitka gear, 3000 dollar rifle, 600 dollar binos, and all that other crap was not needed. Sometimes all you need is LUCK!!!  I guess now Im a road hunter!!!

I dont care how old I get everytime I shoot an animal I get excited as a 5 year old in a candy store..  Im really happy with this buck! 3x4 with mass!! Euro mount is forsure on this guy..
