Been a bit of logging in there the last few years.  I haven't been up that road this year so maybe someone can chime in on the log truck activity, if any.

We set up camp and cut firewood there yesterday. All the same camps are there. Pretty Cool moved back to there normal spot. Other similar camps in normal spots as last year. It snowed last night. I'll be up on Friday afternoon. Hoping for some snow.

It isn't bad. It was graded in the spring. No controlled burning up there this year. If you have any other questions, pm me.

I was chasing white up there this year and it wasn't snow. Oh man, you saying I can't road hunt once in awhile...I don't think my kids can keep up if I took them on the hikes.

Drove past it on Maloy rd, which is open now, during muzzy season and seen about 10 camps maybe? Almost 90% of people I talked to on the way out of the 1701 didn't know Maloy was reopened. Nice comfy road from wenas rd to BBQ flats. :chuckle:

Man I am  sure glad I saw this thread, spent the day unloading the trailer and cleaning it up,  I would have never guessed there be that many camps , dummy camps , road hunters, tribal harvesting.......sounds like I was saved a ton of money on gas , food etc.

Much Appreciated everyone

Maloy rd for real is open? Or are you referring to Audubon rd? Up their 2 weeks ago hunting deer and many miles hiked, not one elk. Need a snow dance

Is there any info on what land was swapped?  I heard about it and have been doing internet research but I have not found any of the details.

Any update on how crowded BBQ is? Not able to roll in until Wednesday for my cow tag and was wondering about the likelihood of finding a spot to camp. Thanks

Was a zoo this year. I'm not sure if it was Elk Hunting or a 4x4 4 wheeler Jamboree......The off trail crap was out of hand this year. Dudes shooting guns on Friday before the opener. Not sure why I do it, but I do it.
