Before you hang up the bow or rifle come shoot one of the biggest animals you will see you don't need a deposit or a license just call a couple days before your date

Is this an actual "hunt", or walk into a field and shoot type meat hunt.  Guess what I want to know is how many acre farm is it?

I would consider it just for the meat.  :hello:
I don't know how much meat one yields but it would be fun.

It wasn't from this ranch but I got one up in Canada that got around 600 # of packaged meat off of it

Yeah, but I figured I'd ask.

I'm guessing theyl have a bubble, youl be able to drive up to them in a tra tor but once you get out and start walking towards them theyl start giving you "the eye"

If I had the money, I'd do it. Why not try at least once in your life? Good meat, cool trophy.

Sounds a lot cheaper per pound then many of my hunts.... heh.   If I had a few more mouths to feed I would do it.  Can't eat a whole buffalo with all the other game I have.  Black Powder Buffalo hunt for $2700 sounds good !

Thanks guys for the positive feedback it's amazing how much buffalo meat went up and trust me I am not making a lot of money I can charge 3k and make more but I want to keep this hunt/harvest affordable to the average hunter and add a nice trophy to someone's trophy room whether it's a euro, buffalo Hyde, or a shoulder mount with a freezer full of meat. This cow was estimated 5 years old so you Atleast minimum a 3 year old.

Here is some more pictures of buffalo at the ranch so start off 2016 with a buffalo so you can fill the freezer so deer and season comes around you can hold out for the buck or bull of your dreams instead of freezer is empty so you have to shoot first animal you see.

Friendly Reminder we still have Buffalo hunts/harvests available in Eastern Oregon why not start off 2016 with a big buffalo especially if you got skunked in 2015 or you have NEVER harvested a buffalo before they make cool trophies in the man cave/trophy room and the meat is the best you will eat. For the guys who want to hunt with bows and crossbows its allowed even black powder and Pistol. I have heard that in ranches in Montana they will not allow bowhunting so they don't have to track it down in case a bad shot so this suits everyone. I would like to see people who really want a buffalo to take advantage of this opportunity we have a lot to harvest and nobody will tell you which one to shoot so if you are going for a certain characteristics for a mount you choose the one you like. If you are a hunter that would love to mount the buffalo I would like to get you a bull over a cow.

I dont know that i will be able to make it happen this year but would definitely be interested for 2017 . Can you pm me some more specifics on this hunt. Is it spot and stalk? I would be archery so what is a typical shot range on the buffalo? And duration of the hunt ect. ect. ect. Please let me know when you have time.

It's really more of a harvest the guy takes you out on a wagon behind a tractor and drive around until you see one you want to shoot. Archery is fine the last guy got one with bow and it took a couple shots to go down.

I got this picture from MLB recently where him and a buddy went down and put the smack down on this very nice bull taken with RAD Broadheads. This is one of many Broadheads from RAD that has proven over and over again that they are effective on any size animal. Don't forget Shooting Stix Safaris

I did one of these hunts 5 years ago. It wasn't difficult but it was fun and I filled my freezer with organic meat. I used my 12 GA with slugs to make it interesting. When you are 30 to 50 yards from 200 Bison it kinda makes you a little nervous. Lol

I just got off the phone with the owner of the buffalo ranch and he is looking into lowering the number of buffalo since he is in his 80s and wants to get the herd smaller to be able to handle it so you ask what does that mean. It means the price is the same but allowing more bison to be taken. I have a feeling once the herd is thinned out the price will go up so don't miss out on filling the freezer

Tax season is a great time to do it it's after the season not a lot of hunting going on and your freezer is full so when next years hunting season comes around you can be selective on a nice buck instead of feeling you have to shoot the first deer that's legal to fill the freezer unless you want to than that's cool too

For all the hunters who want to fill the freezer with bison meat this is the time to do it they are at their biggest, hides are perfect condition and it's an awesome trophy. Don't miss out on a bison which the meat is the best

Very nice buffalo taken with archery equipment this guy is a big hunter that loves hunting big blacktail, Roosevelt elk, and black bear but he told me that he wanted to try something different. He knew it wasn't a challenging hunt but still enjoyed himself

For the people who are interested in harvesting a buffalo especially if your freezer is low message me with first name and phone number and start off 2017 with a buffalo down

The price is $2750 I got a message that they had a blast in eastern Oregon and was happy with the buffalo they took so that is great news makes me happy to here that hunters can enjoy themselves on the off season with friends and family even on a ranch hunt. Hopefully more people try it for themselves instead of knocking it when you have never done it. It's perfect for children or handicap because it's a 1 day deal so don't have to worry about missing school and mobility for elders or handicap even people in wheelchairs can still harvest a buffalo

They are down to 200 buffalo with 4 Bulls and rest are cows but next year will be a lot of Bulls so if you don't care there is plenty of cows but if you want a bull then either go down soon or wait until next year

This was a great weekend I got to experience the buffalo harvest with a client that has ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease which his son had to harvest the buffalo which was fun to see the excitement on his face and made a perfect shot behind the ear. The owner is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and had us cracking up the whole time

Let's set up your harvest this fall or winter time when the hydes are thick and the buffalo are at the heaviest so if you want to set it up let me know to fill the freezer before or after the general deer and elk season. Buffalo are just awesome animals and to see one down and see the size of them

It's good so you don't damage the meat and kills them instantly they drop like a sack of potatoes

That's interesting, I suppose it's a much larger target area than the same spot on a deer or elk. Also, shooting at a relaxed animal I woiuld guess at relatively close distance?

That's interesting that a lot of people shoot deer in the head also at a couple hundred yards and they are relaxed also at least the buffalo sense something is going on so they bunch up so it's hard to get a shooting lane

That is a problem with herding animals. I've heard that is the most difficult aspect of shooting the larger herding animals like Bison, Muskox, etc...

It's a defense mechanism that buffalo or bison to protect from predators like wolves

They have a butcher shop local but if you don’t live near by then I would suggest taking it to a butcher nearby your home because they don’t ship the meat so you would have to drive all the way back to pick up the meat. I was told by a butcher that they could ship the meat within Oregon so if you live in Oregon let me know
