Title: Nighthawk bow press????

The Nighthawk is probably the best I have seen as it has the safest features. However, is suffers the same broken limb risk as all of them. If you get careless in using these type of presses it is very easy to break limbs. In this regard I believe these type of presses should be used as emergency in the field tools rather than every day presses. And then you want to apply just enough compression to complete the job! Not one single turn more!

When used with caution these presses are really nice to have in the truck or in your bowhunting go bag. I've been able to keep guys in camp hunting when they thought their hunt was over, because I carry something similar. Been thinking it is time to upgrade to the Nighthawk as it really is vastly superior to what I carry...and one heck of a lot safer! But for me it will be carried as an emergency repair item ONLY. One of those tools I hope to never use, but am prepared to just in case.

Last Chance EZ Green press can be found for around $400. Sometimes less! It will press most of the bows you find. The attachments for some of the extreme past parallel bows and some of the older Mathews bows are WAY too dang expensive. I have all those accessories and honestly I use them so seldom I don't know if I would ever purchase them again. I'll machine my own much better and much cheaper next time. Watch EBay, Archery Talk and the like...probably find it even cheaper :dunno: Find four friends and have each chip in a Benjamin. You'll appreciate that WAY more than some cheap gadget.

When dealing with bows as expensive as what we see today, the last thing you want to skimp on is your bow press. Plus, I'm rather fond of my eyes and teeth :chuckle: :chuckle:

Post by: Piscatory_5 on December 04, 2015, 10:44:13 AM: I have looked at these too and figured it would do all the pressing I need without heading to a bow shop since they are all about an hour or more from me. Seems that for simple quick things to do like adding or removing a twist from the string or installing a peep or a cam change it would be fine. I only need to do this stuff maybe a couple times a year so like others I don't want to invest $400-600 in a large press that takes up room and has to be stored. Actually I haven't had a bow pressed in a couple of years, maybe 18 months.
