If you have or are planning on hunting Idaho, you need to take this survey.
Not sure how to create a link. Copy and paste to address bar.

Bump.
Check out yesterdays Exo Hunt Backcountry podcast they talk to Cory Jacobsen about point systems vs Idaho.
-
Man I hope they don't adopt a points system. I don't know how anyone can look at the systems in place in basically every western state and say, "ya this is pretty awesome!" Idaho is my favorite draw system out there.

do you have a link? I feel it's just a matter of time before idaho goes to the point system, too much money to be had.

Way better to increase the time period that successful applicants have to wait before re-applying than to go to a point system. Point systems are only good for those who get in on the ground floor and not always then either because of point creep. Point systems make it hard to impossible for young or new hunters to get drawn.

:yeah:
That's what we need is waiting periods.

(Sorry, I already said this somewhere else, but I have to agree with K.)

Idaho has contemplated a point system for years and years. The lure of upfront money from applications, and then getting a needle in the arm of applicants to keep them coming back again and again is very appealing.
To date they've resisted.
This is from their most recent evaluation in 2010: https://fishandgame.idaho.gov/public/licenses/controlledHunts/bonusPointsReport.pdf
