The look on his face shows why that is our national symbol. You could pay for some of your camera equipment with those.

Damn. Those are some great pics.

Not what you think. :'( Think craft Fair's. ;)

I really wouldn't say so, I just have been shooting long enough to understand how it works, to a point.
And shooting birds is a whole new situation of rules to learn.
I find the biggest challenge is trying to remember what I learned from the last outing as I can't get out to shoot as much as I would like.
And on top of it a great guy to know!!! kinda like Shawn only with a Nikon instead of a Canon!!! :chuckle:
Thanks M_ray, right back at ya. ;)

AWESOME PIC

I'm glad you posted that thread Elkman. Those eagle shots are amazing. There are a lot of really good photos of eagles out there. I think it is a function of many people liking them and shooting them a lot and the fact they can be predictable and photogenic in certain areas. I've got some really good eagle photos in slides from Vancouver Island. We would throw a baitfish out in the water by our boat and they would dive down at the bait. You could predict where they were going to be and get them coming all the way down to it from the local tree to slam it in the water. Good stuff that I want to do again some day.
I like the first shot you got, but the second where he is upside down but doesn't look like it is great in my book. I like the unique nature of the shot. Great work and shows you don't have to travel to far destinations to get good wildlife shots around here...

Funny you should say that.
I was thinking of baiting with Mice or fish on line out in the water, sort of give them a little tug across the top out in front of the tree they hang in. :chuckle:
To bad every day since has been pure fog there all day, so No re-tries.
I think I croped it to much on that roll over shot, and It didn't make sence visually.
Here it is with a little more information as to how he arrived at this inverted left turn.

those are awsome pics, i think theyre the best pics ive seen of an eagle. theyre also cool when they sweep down to grab fish.
-
Yeah, that crop is even better Elkman with the other eagle in chase. Not sure if you can even crop out more on the right side of the photo but all the space in the middle wouldn't look so empty if there was a tad more blue outside of them and the eagle on the right has more room to fly. If there isn't more crop on the right you could always create a little... ;) That is an amazing shot. Looks like an airplane in a steap turn with another on its tail... Kind of like a dogfight.
-
great pic! 8)
-
WOW ! :o I've never seen better eagle photos! they are priceless!
We have a lake down in this area that when you catch a fish it's very likely the eagle will come and steal it away before you can get it to the boat! Last year it was so close it's wing hit the ore and it got the fish that was 2 feet off the boat! :yike:

True, the original look like you describe, but then they would look so small. ;)
