Title: DPF recycling
Post by: MuleySniper on November 08, 2015, 10:44:15 AM
I've had this dpf and whatever else the other filter deal is sitting in my garage for a long time now and I'm tired of looking at it. According to craigslist and hear say they are worth a few bucks. I have owned my truck since new and have comfortably decided I have zero plans of ever wanting or needing to re install it. Has anybody sold theirs off? Anyone recommend a reputable recycler in the south puget sound area that pays fair prices? I might hit up one or two of these buyers on CL but I'd like to hear any other experiences guys might have had first selling theirs.
Thanks
Ms

Most individuals wont buy the stuff but if you posted the  make year model on CL you could likely get a business to purchase it, OR offer it up to a shop like Dynamite diesel, Diesel Outfitters or some other shop that can only install legal parts.

Sold the DPF and 2 cats off my 08 Dodge for $600 and they pre paid the shipping. Outfit was out of Texas.

I had 2 6.4 ford dpfs with the cats. Sold one to a guy on Clist for his pickup (his was plugged) for $150. Sold the other (plugged) to a Clist scrapper for $95.00.

On a side note my 2012 cummins with 9500 miles said 80% full today while driving in the hills. It regened after low range and keeping it above 2k for a while but I'm thinking it won't be long before it falls off  :chuckle:

Thanks for the replies. I tried calling one of the CL buyers and big surprise no call returned. I'll just try listing it and see what happens.

That's what I did. They contacted me after a few days of them being listed. You may find someone who needs one, you never know. Personally I'd rather help someone out then sell to a scrapper if its still in good shape.
