Hello peeps, id like to introduce myself to you all. I've been here in WA (Kirkland) for originally from Wales where I grew up hunting rabbits with ferrets'. And have never hunted for anything else. I've yet to hunt here as I spent most of my time learning the ropes on all the fishing that's available to us here.
Anyways recent had a son so I thought id get into hunting to broaden his horizons in whats available for him when he his old enough to both fish and hunt besides playing an Xbox LOL.
So that said I know absolutely zilch on the hunting scene and would really like to meet some people in the area and help me learn how to hunt. I've a tremendous amount of common sense and safety orientated just through the kind of work I do.
Would like to hunt for deer, elk and rabbits would also like to get out there and scout and just meet some friendly people.
Jay!

Hello! Where are you located?

Welcome. Nice introduction. Have you established residency so you can legally purchase a firearm? Have you passed Hunter Education yet? I would suggest those questions be answered as soon as possible. Then you can start doing the other stuff.

hey thanks for the replies...I live in Kirkland I am a resident green card holder and will probably become a citizen next year rather then renew the green card. I already purchased a marlin .22LR. I am making inquires on the hunting education card and I just put in an email in a local sportsman club. I might have missed the boat on hunting ed classes but I still like to get out and hike and scout some areas. until I get the card.

You're likely out of luck for getting your Hunter Ed certification for this year but they're taught year 'round. With the goose season going so late, you could probably still get it in time to shoot some big birds. You need to keep your eyes on the schedules and sign up as soon as you see an opening. Here's the link to the Registration and information page. http://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/huntered/classes/basic.php
