So in years past I have attempted this hunt on 4 different years, all in 328. N, S, E, & W. areas of the unit. Usually there has been snow from 2-12". In all these attempts I have never even seen an elk. (Thinking I suck as a late hunter :chuckle:) and very very few tracks spotted.
Feel like its a waste of time to even attempt it again. Does anybody see elk (on public land) on a regular basis during the late season in 328?
What other areas would you recommend? I Have been wanting to try some of the unit(s) closer to Eburg. or Yakima but never have, and know nothing about where to even start over there. :dunno:
PS: only have a day or two too hunt, used up to much VAC. early. :(

the best way to find out is go there. elk season is 10 or so days. that gives you about 350 days to explore and find and learn an area. personally I don't want to tell anyone about any areas about hunting or fishing not even some of my relatives. doesn't hurt to ask. mike w

I usually try to help out others when I can. I don't often ask for help, so thought I'd try. :dunno: I have the belief that there are very very few actual "secret honey holes" out there. I enjoy helping someone get an animal almost as much as getting one myself.
Thanks again to those who offered advice, as usual, good folks on here. :hello:

For what it's worth, I plan to go first to my normal spots in 328. I have never been in there after Halloween so I am a little concerned with your experience. I may end up on the steep side of a learning curve all over again. I am not sure if I will be up there for opening or second weekend. I PM'd you my number, if you'd like, shoot me a text and I will let you know what i am seeing or not seeing. I really only know the the one drainage so if there not there , I'll be exploring.
