Most GOOD shooters shoot what there sponsor is supplying. Rudy Etchen set many national and international claybird records shooting a plain barreled 870 he used a model 12 also..

I have been struggling to consistently hit hard right birds on post 5. Thinking about letting the TM1 go for a reconditioned (in Yakima) Mono. I am really having a hard time with the thought of letting the TM1 go, but I really want to do something to pick up a few birds on my average. Advise welcome!!
Curious, why do you think switching to a Mono gun will help you pick up a few birds?
Both, have been around for a very long time and I've always been a big fan of Al's guns. I first shot a Dynatrap then moved on to a Mono gun. I've put well over 10K through one and it never missed a beat. They're a solid piece for sure but as Frank Little used to say, trap is 90% mental 10% equipment. Now, if you were ever around Al, he would have told you it's 90% equipment but only if you were shooting a Ljutic and 10% mental. lol He was some kind a character and there was never a dull moment when Al was around.

You are already shooting a top of the line trap gun. If it has been properly fitted to you I would say that any misses that you have are in your head and not in the equipment. I would highly recommend spending some time with a good professional trap coach before thinking you can cure your problem by throwing money at new equipment.

Agree, although not much backing up what I have to say from a personal experience standpoint. I spend a lot of time listening to what my stepdad says about breaking birds and he speaks a whole lot about the psychological end of it. Trust your sight picture. If the gun fits you, it's not the gun. If it doesn't fit...well then, that's a whole other scenario. My stepdad shoots sporting clays on a national level and is a NSCA instructor. He's probably shot 60k registered targets in the last 10 years FWIW and still still works with instructors from time to time to improve himself.

On your misses, do you know why you're dropping them? On post 5 it's real easy to get behind on those hard rights.

Do you struggle with this more shooting handicap or at the 16yd line?
More so at Handi....Been reading/searching over on Trapshooters. Gonna focus on making sure I am under the target, and even slowing down a little. More practice, and like said above, put a trap on that target and shoot it, over and over.
