The buck I got this year is the one I have been looking for ,since I started hunting almost thirty years ago. Here's some pics. Sorry about the quality it was pouring down rain.
-
Congrats! Can't see your pics. :dunno:
-
You can't tease a guy with a, "I've been looking for this buck for 30 years", and then not post the picture!
-
Congrats!
-
Nice buck!
-
Look at the MASS on that thing!!!
-
You guys are kidding right? I'm developing a twitch over here. Can't see any pics. :'(
-

Mass and height!!!
Awesome!
-
Smoker for sure! Love the coloring on him!!
-
What a masher. Should be number 1 or 2 ever killed in the state.
-
Where's the pic?
-
I would have passed on him, heck whats thirty years, I see deer like that every day. :P
-
Meh...shooter on last day. Decent mass, not much character, no junk, and the OP is long arming like crazy!
(I don't see a pic either!)
-
Good shot placement!
-
Ohhh, and that deer is dead! :peep:
-
Is that your wife?
-
Dink
-
I definitely have that buck on camera. But I won't post it, because my wife's girlfriend won't give me permission. Also, I'm pretty sure you were trespassing.
-
Looks like a bench leg?
-
I had to come back and look again! What a bomber!!!!
-
Double main beam, very cool!
-
Looks like a bench leg?
Pretty sure Benchlegs don't make it that far but I agree, does have that look to it. I can't get over the coloration of those antlers. Beautiful
-
Is the one you have been looking for the deer or the woman?
-
Real nice Benchleg Spike!!!! Good eats for sure!!!!! :chuckle:
-
From what I can see. It's a Benchleg. No doubt.
-
I didn't know deer could live that long.
-
From what I can see. It's a Benchleg. No doubt.
Are we even looking at the same buck? :dunno:
-
I had to look three times :dunno: does that buck look a little bit piebald?
Congrats on a great buck
-

I guess I will have to take your word on it, there are a handful a great guys on this site that when they say " that buck is a Benchleg" you can bet your spare change that Buck is a Benchleg.
-
I'm shocked she doesn't get cold.
-
Is this the same deer in the middle of the grass field and you have a mustache? No rifle or tag in the photo but you are in camo and an orange vest? Or is this the one in the dirt and rocks and you are wearing a camo beanie hat and orange vest? Inquiring minds want to know.
-
Dude thats not even a legal 3 point. You can't count his middle leg as a point for both sides of the rack!!
-

No , its the one with the large furn and rotted out cedar just to the left. If you look close there appears to be a fence about 80yds behind him with a sign but I cant make out the message.
-

Now I see it, Benchleg for sure, nice buck, congrats to you and the lady, looks like it was cold.

Missed the sign, I was focused on the girl. I can't read what that sign says either, I assume it says FFTH.

You might want to check your browser logs to see if you are getting a pebkac error.
-
Oh I thought someone was engaged.
Kinda, he just asked that brute to be his shoulder mount.
-
I still can't see pics.
He's dead. Why is that so tough for you to see? :chuckle:

Alright fair enough. Carry on.
-
Great Blacktail!!! I've been looking for 24 years and still haven't tagged one like that! This thread is cheapening your awesome trophy! For those of you who cant see the pics, There is only 1 true masher blacktail and NO scantily clad women....but it does look a little nippy :chuckle:

I shot him with a 308 win. Model 88 that my dad got brand new in 1956.
-
Aside from the fun we had until the pics showed up, that buck is awesome and it looks like you worked for him, steep dark timber.
That is definitely one for the wall. Did you know about this buck prior to hunting him?
-
Agreed....all in fun and that is a dandy deer. Congrats on getting him after this long!
-
That's a great BT! Congrats! Oh, and before the pics this thread had me laughing out loud!
-
I had never seen this particular buck before, but I did know of a definite shooter in the area. This buck had been fighting recently. I would like to see the buck that sliced his ear and cut his face and neck.
-
Oh wow that ain't no Spike! Nice buck!!!!
-
Your thread has fallen victim to an accumulation of other entertaining threads. Nothing to do with you. Great blackie.

Nice blacktail. Love the dark HORNS. 8)
-
The "hecklers" were only "heckling" because no pictures were posted.
Obviously all wanted to see the pictures after the 30 year build up.
Nice buck.
Looks wet.
Feel guilty?????????
No.
-
I have heard the rapidly changing pressures in a building due to high winds can restrict the blood flow to the humor portion of the brain. They simply can't get it.
-
Shhh. I'm baiting people with horns instead of antlers! This should be EPIC :yike:
-
Pick up some of the buck's droppings.
Then lay them on your gun so we can can see the size.
Then take several pics from different angles.
It's important!
-
Can't see clearly.....8pt benchleg?
:chuckle:
-
I shot him with a 308 win. Model 88 that my dad got brand new in 1956.
That is the second that I know of by H-W members. Sweet! I sure like seeing those still being used out there. My all time favorite gun
Fantastic buck, Congratulations!

That's the one I've been looking for too. .... not for 30 years, but a he's been in my dreams quite a bit lately.
Surely, there has to be a good story there. (?) Looks like pretty steep ground. He must have just come over the pass from the east side. :chuckle:
