So today was the last day for elk. We were literally on our way to where we were going to hunt, and not even two minutes after being there I saw an elk. I jumped out of the truck and put my crosshairs on a bull. Spike. There was about seven all together. Two spikes and five cows. Then we went to another location and after hiking for a while I saw what I believe to be, a good buck. He was entirely way to far to even attempt a picture. After hiking for a while longer we tried to go back to the truck. We both stopped and looked down. Deer tracks. A deer had followed us and we didn't even know it. It even stepped in our boot tracks. As we were leaving we saw two doe.
I didn't get to bag an elk, but I saw elk on numerous occasions. This was my first year EVER hunting in Washington(Military) and I look forward to many more years hunting here. Congrats to everyone that was able to pet wildlife this season. I have one more shot....late buck!
