Is it always Full Moon for western late archery elk season opener ? sure seems that way.

A bit chilly too, same as last year I think. Crunch, crunch.

The moon was a source of 5 minutes involved in a constructive hobby tonight :)

I tried late arch elk here, single digit temps on thanksgiving and by 11am i wussed out and headed for the truck. But i think the moon phase thing is silly. I see every kind of animal active during daylught hours during every moon phase. I see a full moon in the winter as a blessing. With a full moon and some snow on the ground, you can hike in in the dark with no artificial light source. Being able to cover a couple miles before legal shooting light without a headlamp is awesome. Get into your spot sneaky as can be. I love full moons, especially when the ground is white.
