Killed this cow on friday the 21st, north Idaho, 10 yard shot, 60 yard recovery. Good blood trail on pass through shot with a 30" goldtip 5575 tipped with a 125gr Sonic broadhead out of my Bowtech Patriot. This is without a doubt the biggest cow I've killed, and literally covered with fat, more fat on this cow than any two elk I've killed in the past.

Someone asked how far was she from the road and how many pieces did she come out in. Well I'm not ashamed to say she came out WHOLE :IBCOOL: in the back of my four wheeler trailer. We were hunting up a gated off Potlatch road and we had dropped off the wheelers just inside the gate that morning, and worked a bull as we worked up the ridge that morning and were above the gated road about 50 yards when I arrowed her. She piled up 10 yards above the road, which allows legal four wheeler access. So we walked the 3 1/2 miles back to the wheelers after gutting her. Rode the 6 miles back to camp, got the pull behind trailer and came back and slid her into the trailer. Burnt a bearing on the trailer getting back to camp, but the wheel held. We were not able to get her hung up on our game pole whole however. She was damn heavy. :o We halved her to get her hung and skinned and then cleaned up the knives, and headed to town for a beer. :brew:

Congrats, you gotta love it when they pile up where you don't have to kill yourself getting them out.

Machias, yep, I have spent enough time under a pack loaded with elk meat to ever be ashamed of one that fell too close to a road. :chuckle:
