Title: Need a long gun box to ship rifle for repear
Post by: bear hunter on December 04, 2015, 06:46:07 PM: Do anyone have a extra rifle box I can buy or where can I buy cardboard rifle boxes for shipping. I have a savage 12 heavy barrel i need to send back to savage arms. Tired to buy a box at the post office but they don't have any that will work. So hope some one has one local that I can buy or have if tossing. Thanks 206 930 1781 Danny A

No rush. It has been sitting in safe for years. Not sure of length. I don't have it in front of me. I do know the barrel is 24" so i would say 42" to 45" of the top of my head. I can look tomorrow and let you know. THANKS

Thanks Richard..... I will let you know when I head up that way for ducks. It will be in the next few weeks.

Post by: thinkingman on December 05, 2015, 11:32:12 AM: I made a shipping box out of 1x4 and 1/4" plywood. Bought a small sheet of foam insulation. A handful of sz4 screws and I was guaranteed not to have a stock cracked in shipment.
Cost about $10.
It was worth it.
