Title: Goose Call?
Post by: lokidog on December 05, 2015, 11:45:05 AM
I need a new goose call to go with the waders, thoughts? Budget is definitely less than $50.

I'm probably looking for a short reed as I tried a flute years ago and couldn't seem to do squat with it.

This is what I use as an over the water goose call. My water goose hunting is pretty limited to smallish waters and the occasional Columbia hunt. I prefer a mellower call for water, hence the wood. My water hunts are mostly based on pre-scouted areas that I know birds will be returning too vs. a traffic type situation where I need to be extremely loud to attract attention. Trying to attract geese over the Sound you may want to look at the Poly/delrin calls. Acrylic would be best for loud sounds that will carry, but I don't think you can find one (new at least) for your price range.

In any event, these are pretty decent calls in your price range.
