There's two parts to this thread.
First being the question stated above and why you would choose it.
Second, any information you could share with the below questions.
Just looking for some ideas. I've been running the Trophy Ridge Cypher 5 pin for a few years now. I like it but I'm looking for something alittle more adjustable and easier to see. The pins on mine are alittle larger than I prefer. I'd like something with smaller and brighter pins. My visions been going down hill over the years so I was even thinking of one f the scope sights or the peeps with glass inside to help focus. Not sure on legality of that or not though. Also i was thinking a 5 or 7 pin maybe even vertical pins to... 7 seems overkill to some people and also sometimes to myself, but it would take some of the guess work out of ranging. I like single pins alot but don't like the fact of an animal moving while I've already adjusted for range and it moves while I'm at full draw.
Anyways enough with my rambeling. If anyone has an ideas and can sum all that into one sight I'd love to hear it.

I always hear people talk about spotthog and trophy taker being on top of the game right now. But there's really just so many dang options and doo dads available for sight these days its hard to make a decision.

I really do love the idea of having both stationary and adjustable single. Multi pins for quick opportunity shots. More precise pin point shots on an animal that's barely moving because of feeding or even bed down. You'd have more than enough time to range and set that pin exactly where it needs to be. I figure with what people spend on rifle scopes. 3-4 hundred bucks hurts but really isn't that bad. Next to the bow itself the sight ka really the most important part of your weapon.

Agree and that's why it's a contender for me. I shot for Trophy Ridge staff for a few years and really like there products. I really like vertical pins and have been shooting them for years.

Sight is close to the bow I didn't like the idea of some of the sights sticking way out but that's just me.IMO the further the sight is from the bow the smaller aperture you use on your peep, seems to increase accuracy. Less room for error. Aim small miss small.

Yes! I do hate the idea of spending $350 on a hunting site. I thought $120 for a Lethal Weapon was crazy :o Then I find out even those are now almost $300! World has gone MAD...I do hate that!!

Ya like I said for me personally I don't like my sight hanging a foot out in front of my bow for hunting, maybe for targets. But I shoot well out to 80 and practice out to 100 for fun so it can't effect it that much.

You learn more about elk from walking around in a wooded area than you ever will sitting at a computer. How do you think I learned how to hunt elk? No one taught me anything about elk hunting. I didn't even know anyone who had successfully hunted elk with a bow before I killed my first one. Heck, I didn't even know a half dozen people who shot a bow back then!
My father sold our chest freezer in the summer of 1980. I asked him what we were going to do if I shot an elk. His response to me was, "You shoot an elk and then we will worry about it." My own mother forbid me to hunt bear with my bow because the guy at the sporting goods store told her I would be killed or crippled if I even tried. I killed my second deer, a bull elk and a boar with my bow that same year. Determination, stubbornness, repeated failure, two pairs of boots, 40 tanks of fuel and some stupid luck was all it took. My father paid twice the price for a new freezer than he got for the one he sold! :tung:
And BTW...That $1,100 Kifaru is one heck of a pack for walking around in wooded areas inhabited by elk ;) ;)

That might be why I didn't bother remembering who it was by. :rolleyes: That, and I'm happy with my Bargain Cave sight that I have now. :chuckle: I couldn't even tell you what that one is, and I've been using it for longer than I've had my current bow. ;)

This may be the funniest thing I have seen written on this forum :chuckle: :chuckle: And true.
To add to the topic, I have the Spot Hogg Wrapped 7 deadly pin in .010 and I love it. The small pins really helped me tighten up my groups and the wrap keeps the pins lit down to the bitter end of shooting light. Some people dont like the clutter, but I have the order pretty well memorized and don't mind it. That said, my elk was so close I put my first three pins behind the shoulder and then she died :dunno:
