Same steel as the Lanyard skinners. 8.5" overall, 2" blade.
Whitetail antler.
Mycarta spacers with white carbon spacers.
Going to be sheathed in black leather with grommets such that it can be hung from the lanyard blade up, or from the belt scandi style blade down.
Just wanted to post it up, so here it is! I'll do better pics when the sheath is done...

I like that blade but with a basic full hand sized handle that I can put my finger out along the top edge of the knife, anything in that realm soon?
-
I have a couple more of these hidden tang scalpel sized blades. We'll go to PM and you can tell me exactly the handle design you're looking for.
-
It is beautiful, a real work of art. But at $110 it's a little rich for my blood. If my ship comes in I'll definitely get one. Have you used it or one like it for skinning?
-
Yeah, the little blade is really handy. You can reach the tip with your finger, you know where it is all the time. It's a good cutter.

Rainshadow1: WOW! I went to your website. You really are an artisan. The knives especially are amazing. Now I know why they are expensive. Regarding the calls, I've never seen open reed calls before. Is there a special technique to using them? Can you get multiple reeds and swap them in and out for different sounds?
-
Thanks Dave,
I wouldn't recommend playing around with reeds as a novice. I'd get used to an open reed first, then you'll know how it's supposed to work. Then, when you have one mastered, you could monkey around with different reed shapes, thicknesses, and configurations. (It does make a huge difference, you'd be amazed the different sound from the same call.)
