Title: Dodge Ram Steering box questions
Post by: Fastass350 on January 02, 2016, 06:38:42 PM: Anyone with a 3rd gen ram upgraded to the bigger gear box? Is yours lifted? Mine has a 6" lift and 37's and I'm starting to notice the sector shaft of the gear box has side to side play when the wheel is rocked back and forth. Just wondered if anyone has upgraded and what you went with for a drop pitman arm.

Post by: KFhunter on January 02, 2016, 07:06:50 PM: Not sure about a 3rd gen, but a 2nd gen the steering box can rock back and forth on the frame with big tires. I put in a steering box stabilizer to eliminate that flex. While I was at it I slapped in a new steering box.

I recommend you give red head a call for the steering gear. They make the best boxes and they're in Auburn.
