Yes both of those are available in 125 now.  I will take a photo tomorrow at the show.

My brothers down there again this year with Limbsaver,  think you spoke to him yesterday, I really like the peep sites we got from you last year at the show they really  help in low light situations, sounds like things are wrapping up tomorrow.

MLBowhunting and D-Rock were on their game this year.  We started with a few issues setting up the booth.  Those two tackled those problems head on and rocked it!  Thank goodness they were along to help out the old guys and lend their support.  Booth ended up looking great and few customers came by the booth without a nice greeting and friendly conversation.

Booth came down last night in record time.  I can't remember the last time we all got off the show floor before the busses quit running to the hotel.  With the bigger booth and additional fixturing that was all new I was a bit more than worried.  I should not have been.  First class guys with great work ethics.  Thank you so much guys

I don't think any of us got away from the booth as much as we would have liked.  We did shoot a few bows.  Talked with our industry friends and saw a few new things that were interesting.  But I'm not sure any of us saw more than 25% of the show or shot even half the new bows.  Hopefully D-Rock and MLB will chime in and share what they liked.

For me the biggest surprise was how nice the new Sims target bow shot.  I heard a few talk about not liking the grip.  It is rather square and not the most comfortable to place in your hand.  But for me comfort falls far behind consistency when it comes to bow grips.  I intentionally tried to grip it wrong and torque the shot on most my shots.  I found it more difficult to shoot it poorly than I did shoot it well.  Didn't even set out to shoot the new Sims.  Only giving it a few arrows because one of the guys grabbed me as I walked past and darn near forced me into shooting it.  I'm glad they did - That was fun!!

Other things that shined in my limited escapes from working;

BearX - The new crossbow by Bear Archery makes me want to shoot a crossbow :o  Great, great, great product!!

Also at Bear the Escape and BR33 take back seat to NO ONE!  The improved grip is getting a lot better.  Balance is better.  Shot vibration better.  Target acquisition better.  I had to order one of each for my play days.  I'm looking forward to spending my spring throwing arrows down range with both.

I had shot the Bear Marshal and Wild before the show but had to do it again because I felt the need to see if what I remembered was as good  weeks later.  For the price conscious bowhunter on a budget they still remain high on my list.  I'm so impressed with that bow I've even thought about shooting one for 2016 hunting season just to make a point that $299 can still buy you a world class hunting bow.  Neither is the bow the BR33 is, but they trail the 2016 headliner by very little!

Best bow of the show may just be a Hoyt!  I can not remember the last time I said that out loud. ;)  I think the last time I thought this highly of a Hoyt was before the ATA started doing a show.  My preference is the aluminum Defiant 34.  But if the Carbon Defiant were priced the same it would be so close a comparison I'm not sure I could choose a winner.  Cosmetically there is zero comparison as the Aluminum Defiant is a Victoria's Secret model - Sexy, sexy and maybe even a little sexier than that!

RipCord continues to stride above and beyond the competition in fall away rests.  We did find out that the rumors of Montana Black Gold, Tight Spot and RipCord being sold to Bowtech were true.  So who knows how that might effect what has become the best service in the industry with RipCord.  But in talking with Keith it sounds like RipCord will operate independent of Bowtech for the foreseeable future.  That's good news for those wanting their outstanding products that just keep improving every year.  Since both Lorraine and I are planning to shoot Easton's Deep Six arrows this year we need a new fall away rest.  So, I picked up two new rests from them.  One for the wife's new Hoyt and one for my new hunting bow...which every that ends up being come turkey season.

Just as Hoyt was my "Top at Show" pick after more than a decade  Easton/Beman also has risen to the top of my excitement scale for "Best at Show".  The 6mm FMJ is something I have wanted to see for quite some time.  They not only did it, but they did it in a package that looks like some of my favorite Easton arrows from years past.  Made me think of the old Dougerty arrows I shot so religiously in the late 80's.  The Deep Six ACC may not be as fabulous as my prized ACC Pro Hunters, but at least us Pro Hunter fans have something close.  Whackmaster and I are certainly going to be putting a few through some animals in 2016!

And finally, after WAY, WAY, WAY too long Beman has once again started offering a precision ICS shaft.  The Beman ICS Elite was, at one time, my "Go To" all carbon arrow.  I spent years searching for a replacement when they stopped making that shaft.  New from Beman this year will be the ICS Precision Hunter.  This shaft is basically the old ICS Elite with a new face lift.  The wife's Kobalt and Bear will be wearing this shaft in their quivers as soon as I can get them off the fletching jigs.  I like it when great products find their way back to the market.

I left the show feeling positive about what the industry is giving bowhunters for 2016.  It's a good time to take up hunting with stick and string!  I'm getting excited for all my new toys to show up.  Christmas looks to be coming early this year! :chuckle:

Like Radsav, I was pleasantly surprised by the new Sims bow.  I also shot the new Elite recurve and thought it shot pretty well.  Our displays were good and the bowstring peep showcase got alot of attention.

Same Sims.

Not sure I understand the second part of that question.  If your asking whether Sims sells RAD/Savora products, they do not.  The only bow companies we have a business relationship with would be PSE, Bowtech, Winchester and Bear.  MLB, Whackmaster and myself have shot plenty of animals with Sims bows over the years.  I have also come to really enjoy their firearm accessories too.  Good people/Good products.

I'm just curious if you weren't impressed or didn't get a chance to shoot it, I would just like to here what you guys thought of it.

I'm just curious if you weren't impressed or didn't get a chance to shoot it, I would just like to here what you guys thought of it.

I'm not sure if D-Rock shot that bow or not.  I do know that MLB and I did/have.  As for myself I have been growing more and more impressed with PSE's HD cam.  It may very well be my favorite cam on the market right now.  I have not shot the CarbonAir indoors, only outdoors in a little bit of wind.  I thought it was impressively quiet.  I was shocked when MLB told me he thought it was a little loud when he shot it at the ATA.  That could be the difference between indoor/outdoor, arrow weight differences or bow tuning. I expect MLB shot it a few inches longer in draw length so that could be the noise difference as well. :dunno:

The Carbon Air comes in draw lengths of 24.5 to 30.5".  MLB shoots 31" draw length so I expect it may have been a little uncomfortable for him.  I shoot 28.5" and the bow I shot was set at 29".  To me it felt as though the marks were right on.  My weight came back on my right foot ever so slightly, but I could have shot it there and not felt uncomfortable at all.  I think that also says a lot about that cam.  When I shoot 1/2" too long in Bear (hybrid), Hoyt, Elite or Prime it is very difficult to make uphill and down hill shots without thinking about my adjustments.  Not so with the HD cam.  Very much like the best of my single cams in that regard.

I liked the bow quite a bit.  IMO the bow is too light for a large bow quiver.  So that is something to think about.  And usually with light weight bows I find a longer and heavier stabilizer is a must.  I shot it with my 11" Modular stabilizer from Sims and it was just about perfect with no quiver on it.  When my bow arrives I will play with offsetting the stabilizer some hoping to find a sweet spot.

As with all PSE bows the grip is darn near perfect.  To me that has always been the area where PSE has separated themselves from the rest of the pack.  The CarbonAir was no exception to this.  At full draw it finds the crease between the thumb and palm as if made just for my goofy hand.  The carbon finish is smooth, warm and very comfortable.  And the grip/riser itself is very pleasing cosmetically.  It looks so much better in your hand than it does in pictures it's shocking.  It really is a nice looking bow!

At 32" A2A it fits into a size I don't mind.  I'm not sure D-Rock or MLB will think the same.  Obviously it is way too short for MLB's long draw length.  And I expect D-Rock, even though it would fit his 27" draw length perfectly, will not be jumping for joy just because of his strong target shooting roots.  The HD cam does a pretty good job of making the bow feel longer at full draw than it's 32" A2A would make you think.  It's still 6.125" in brace height which is a serious bummer.  And while I do like cable slides better than rollers, most of the time, I did feel as though the bow was too short for a slide offset that far.  There was definitely some noticeable system torque at full draw.  Something similar to Hoyts new cable guard would really lend itself well to the CarbonAir.  Hopefully we will see this area improve in future years.

When I held the bow for the first time I expected the feel at shot to be disappointing because of the weight.  Lightweight bows just can not compete with heavier bows in shot feel.  And while that held true, I was really surprised it wasn't worse!  Not sure if that says more about the PSE limb, the HD cam or the foam filled riser.  Maybe a combination of all three. :dunno:  The engineer in me wants to contribute that to a fun new technology in building risers.  But that could just be marketing hype getting the best of me.  Either way I was left impressed how well it felt...for a 3.2# bow!

Then the bigger question comes into play - Is it really worth $500-600 more than the Decree HD?  For the extreme back country hunter - that is debatable.  For your average western bowhunter not caught up in being the coolest kid on the block - I doubt it.  For the stand hunter - absolutely not.  For serious lady hunters that get out and pound the hills - I think the CarbonAir just may be worth every penny.

In my personal opinion the Decree HD is PSE's cream of the crop.  The short, lightweight and super cool CarbonAir doesn't challenge the Decree HD at all in this regard.  But as PSE's second carbon bow in something like 25 years, I think it is a winner.  If you find yourself refinancing the mortgage, realizing the kids aren't college material or you've won the Powerball I wouldn't blame you for buying one.  It's a fun enough bow to shoot that I had to put myself on the list! ;)

I looked at way more things at last year's show because I was a little overwhelmed by the whole experience.  This year I stuck to the booth a bit more.
Title: Re: Savora at the ATA 2016

I tried to get the guys out more.  Wanted to make sure it was fun for them and not just work.  But both D-Rock and MLB came to work their behinds off.  I think they just wanted me to feel guilty for being a slave driver :chuckle:

I get away so little anymore that having guys I trust get out and look the show over is important.  We not only need to see what our customers want and need, but we need to see what the competition is and what is creating a buzz.  Hard to do that from the booth.  I have come to respect D-Rock and MLB for their ability to see things from the business side as well as the archer's side.  What a blessing they have been.  I hope our relationships can continue to progress the way they have.  Though I assume after a while they will begin to get tired of hearing all the same stories that Del and I tell.  Even the embarrassing ones that come up after too many Kentucky Bourbon Barrel beers'. :o

I shot the new PSE Carbon and thought it was a nice and smooth shooter.  PSE had the shooting lane in a back corner and maybe I was hearing the echo from the bow but it is a nice shooting bow for sure.  I also shot the Hoyt Defiant 34 Carbon and loved that bow.  Smooth and quiet and seemedvery balanced in my hand.

MLB did.  Not sure what he thought other than he was surprised with all the attached gadgetry.

I no longer waste my time shooting bows with that limb.  I know I don't like it and I have too little time.  Doesn't mean it's not good.  It's just not my thing.  Hopefully MLB will come back and give you his take.

I actually shot the Mamba 36.  I like a longer axle to axle bow myself, the bow weighs just under four pounds, it had a good feel to it, solid wall and was surprised how it shot.  The bow was nice butall the other gadgets on it makes it a little different.   Not a bad bow at all.

I'm just curious if you weren't impressed or didn't get a chance to shoot it, I would just like to here what you guys thought of it.

I put a little more into shooting this bow lately.  There was something I wasn't liking and had to figure out what it was.  It came down to two things - Grip width and stabilizer weight.  I moved all three modules on my stabilizer to the end instead of the "one short/two long" I usually shoot it at.  That made quite a difference for the better.  I also find the grip a little wider in the throat area than most PSE bows.  Not a bad thing, but with my hand it wasn't the usually comfort PSE is for me.

This bow is rapidly growing on me!  I'm not normally a bridge riser fan.  But on this bow it's so far from the hand it still carries well and doesn't interfere with anything.  Much better than the Alpine, Hoyt or Martin bridged risers IMO.  If it had Hoyts new cable guard I think it would be darn near flawless.  Hard for me to forget how perfect the Decree HD is, but I'm beginning to like the CarbonAir darn near as much.

I'm going to mix up the accessories on it and play some more.  Planning on getting a Sims NavCom filled Carbon LS Target stabilizer and adding modules to the end until I hit the perfect weight.  I've had a carbon Accutouch sight laying around for a year.  Will try putting that on.  My new RipCord arrow rests just showed up today.  And after the next show I'll make some new Fury threads for it so she looks extra cool!  I can put some distance between me and the target after that.  Then we'll get a better idea of what she can do.

Even if it ends up taking back seat to either the Bear or the Decree come hunting season it has been a lot of fun!

BTW - I stopped in at Archery World, Vancouver yesterday and they have a camo one in stock!

Joe at the local archery shop was told 6 to 8 weeks.  But he placed an order for his son and got a target bow within two weeks.  So there is a chance!  If the Defiant felt as good in the hand as the target bow I'd probably wait the 90 days.  It's nice!!

I did spend the $200+frt so I can press the Defiant / New Hoyts! :yike:  WTF is that all about?  Hoyt should have sent those for free to authorized pro-shops.  Not that it would have helped me, but that's crazy.

I had that behemoth!  Actually I've had both the old one and the new one.  New one is way better than the original, but I have never cursed a press more.  The wife would get woke up at night thinking I was fighting with an intruder due to all the noise and non-stop profanities.  I get in a bad mood just looking at pictures of that thing these days!

If I were you I would buy the LCA EZ Green and then the Hoyt brackets.  Think if you went that way you would still save a few hundred dollars.
