You can't beat H4831. It's all I've ever used. Tried a couple others just for fun. They can come close to H4831 but can't outdo it.

This is helpful so I can still post.  H414....try it you will like it big time.  Smoking fast bullet, top accuracy, and all out of a ball powder!

If I was going to use a Reloader powder it would RL22. 19 is similar in burn rate to 4350 and 22 is close to 4831. You'll get your highest velocities from either 4831 or RL22.

I like the 4350, it can be used in a lot of cal's. You will want to find what your gun like first before you buy a bunch of powder. :twocents:

My buddy and I have found that the RL-19 works very well for the .270 and 7MM but the Rl-22 seems to work better for the 300WM and larger. :twocents:

In my experience, H4831 is perfect for the 270 Win. and H4350 for the 30/06. The 270 needs a little slower powder. Of course the 4350's do work well enough in the 270. I tried it once and had good results, but not good enough to make me switch.

I have tried it as well but had better groups at the same velocity with the 19, I use the 140gr Noslers.

jdb, 4320....or maybe 4320. Another good option is 4320. Some guys like 4320, or 4320. 4320 is a great choice. Have you considered 4320?  Another good option is 4320. IMR-4831 works best for me.  Each gun is different though, or each load shall I say.  Suppose you buy x amount of powder without knowing though and it doesnt group well for you.  Id recommend trying out a 1 lb before commiting to powder that might not be best for you.  Most likely you will be able to work something out, but I think the contention is to find what groups best and then go from there.

I have used IMR-4831 and have had good success with both Hornandy 140gr BTSP (52 gr) and Nosler 130 gr Partitions (54 gr).  You can also use RL-19.  However, a majority of the manufacturer's reccommend IMR-4831 with it's great accuracy.  I'm not saying it's the best, but probably the best place to start.  RL-19 is the choice for 30-06 & .338 and RL-22 is the choice for 7mm and 300 Win Mag according to their label.
