I am looking to buy my first bow, however 90% of my funds are Cabela's gift cards. After a trip to Cabela's and bad customer service I really do not want to buy my bow from them. Everything I have read and been told my local bow shop would be best.
If anyone shops at Cabela's often and would buy my gift cards. You can either meet me at Cabelas and use my gift cards to buy one gift card so only you will know the new gift card, or meet up and you can do it online.
Thanks.

Not to be contradictory for no reason but... I don't think buying a bow from Cabela's is a bad thing, I would certainly have it worked on at your local shop(s) when it comes to that though.

I would stress for it to be brand new in a box maybe. I've seen big box stores just restring and put a dry fired bow right back on display... while I know that dry firing doesn't always mess things up, Im not paying new price for something thats been mishandled.

Definitely a fair point. Just throwing it out there :)

I have seen people dry fire and hang the bow back up when I work there. Every bow that was at my store Iand I saw it fired or after inspection had a thought it was I had sent back to the factory. But that is just how I ran it. I'd personally want a bow in box from them and I think I'd go with the quest binary bow they carry. :twocents:

List your Cabelas cards for sale in the classifieds. If you offer them for a slight discount I suspect they'd sell quick enough.

Cabelas sells some decent bows that would serve you well in the elk woods. They also have some good sales if you watch for them. I personally, have had good luck with the guys in the archery department (Lacey store) for some bow work (wasn't one of their bows but my Alpine).
If you're completely against doing business at your local Cabelas, you could still go in and shoot some bows you may be interested in and then buy what you like on line with your gift cards. Setting up a bow isn't that hard. Order your bow, rest, sights, etc., and get your arrows at a local pro shop. Just an option. Heck, you already have the Cabelas gift cards in hand! If word gets out you don't like them, you may not get any more birthday or Xmas gift cards from your family and friends :o

I attempted to buy a bow there the other week. Very bad customer service. Ended up walking away with nothing. I had every intention of coming home with a bow.

I don't think you can use a gift card to purchase a gift card. I know this is the case at Macys, maybe it's different at cabelas.
-
you can. I have done it to reduce the quantity of cards I have to carry.
-
buy the bow at a box store (or Internet) and bring it in to the local shop for repairs - exactly why local shops are not making any money and struggling not to go out of business! :bdid: Buy the bow at the local shop!

I would save the cards for arrows. :chuckle:

Yep.
Use the cards for arrows and other accessories or tools.
