Was able to bag one of these beautiful birds today and I just wanted to share some photos of it. I was also curious about how common these are, in under the impression that they're pretty uncommon. I think I'm going to get him mounted.

Impressive - congrats!
yes, get it mounted!

Pretty common in NW Wash. Shot one last week and saw several others on Saturday that I didn't have shots on.
-
Fairly common in puget sound. I've seen them but never shot one. Someday.

Ah I see! A couple guys had told me that they were pretty uncommon, beautiful bird for sure though. That's a pretty one h20!

They are pretty uncommon, probably on par with shooting a banded bird or maybe less. Mount it!
-
Definitely a mounter!

We got one Saturday as well. There was three in there the day before out of a couple thousand. Second one we've ever got. Little immature though.

One of my favorite birds, still haven't got one yet. Nice shooting

They used to be uncommon but now they seem to be everywhere.

A canvasback & redhead are on par with shooting a band in my area. I see euros weekly. Just about every large flock of wigeon in the fields will have a few in it.

My buddy and I shot 13 in one year. He got 2 last year. It's been a few since I've shot one, but saw one 3 days ago. Still a trophy!
-
Nice bird! I've only ever seen one, south end of Willapa Bay.

They seem to be getting more and more common in my area, 15 years ago it was rare to see one now there is 1 or 2 in every big flock.
