I am going somewhere high this year just for scouting in the summer! Due to work and military commitments I won't be able to hunt at all this next year. My first choice was the Entiat Valley which is now burned up and closed for God knows how long. Then I bought a map of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and plotted out some spots that seemed off the beaten path, but really when you look at that area it looks hard to get off the beaten path. I really just want to see some high country mule deer before I'm too old to get there. I'm probably going to start buying preference points for Wyoming also. I've been getting the gear together. Still debating optics. All I have now are some 10x42 Vortex binos. I might just be going with those for the scouting trips. Plan on doing 2 for sure. 3 if I can afford it and my wife doesn't kill me. Plus my son is getting married this summer. Anyway, advice is welcome and appreciated. Open advice or PM's. 2017 I am high hunting somewhere. I am not asking for a specific hill or ridge. I look forward to finding the deer on my own. But If you want to help I appreciate it. I also request you don't send me on a snipe hunt. Anyway, thanks.
