It's the off season and I'm starting to accumulate some reloading supplies and am wondering how you guys store it all. Anything special? I know a dedicated reloading bench is in my future, just wondering more about bullets, primers, etc.
I'm thinking there is a reloading bench thread on here somewhere. Maybe I better go looking.
Thanks guys.

I rounded up several metal and locking supply cabinets from a couple body shops here in town and bolted them to the wall over the bench. :dunno:

I keep all my stuff in a temp controlled room. Powders and primers don't care for fluctuating temps, or extreme hot. Beings that I live on the dry side, I don't worry to much about humidity, never had a problem...though on the wet side that may be a condsideration. Bullets, brass, and other components are kept in original packages or in recycled plastic coffee / tuperware containers.
I will be building my new reloading bench over the next couple weeks. I will post pics if it helps with ideas.

I have standard open shelving racks that I bought at Costco and an all metal paint cabinet with adj. shelves for ORM-D items.
I have a friend that's a retired pipe fitter and he rigged up an old none working fridge to store his welding rod in. This may also be a cheap way to store primers, powder, etc. and keep it dry/sealed. If I recall he installed some kind of dehumidifier as well.

This is my bench. All my powder and bullets are kept in the cabinet and primers and brass are stored in a cabinet and drawer

I picked up a little rack from Amazon, supposed to be a 750lb capacity.

I store mine on a shelf similar to what others have posted. I have my primers and powder in a cupboard above my bench not sealed or temp controlled by any means. I haven't loaded anything for over a year now. I will post up if I have any issues with primers or powder, haven't had any issues so far.
I have often wondered about the shelf life of primers and powder during storage. I doubt very much that all reloading suppliers and distributors have heated and controlled environments for storage. None of the primers I have come in sealed boxes or containers. :dunno:

I'd sure like to see more pics. I'm putting my room together for the first time and would like some ideas of storage, benches, etc.

This is my simple set up out in my man cave

Here is my mess. Upper right cabinet is for powder, primer and loaded ammo. Bullets left in factory boxes eliminates confusion.

Loaded ammo in 50 or 30 cal. ammo cans or wire racks from Costco. Bullets and shot also on the racks. Powder and primers in a cupboard with dies, manuals, and misc. parts and tools.

Well, that doesn't make for a very entertaining thread.
:)
More or less, I was wondering if there was any special requirements or needs when storing bullets, primers, powder, etc.
I.E. temperature controlled environment, throw it in a closet, giant pile on the workbench in the garage, etc.

keep them dry and room temp and your good. I have heard its best not to store primers and powder in the same compartment for safety reasons.
But I'll confess I have done this

Our is just in an insulated building, no heat or humidity control....we try and keep the lid on powders
Haven't noticed any issues but that doesn't mean we arnt having some variations that were not aware of...interested in what some others do

Let's see. I have some in the garage, some in the shop, some in the basement, probably something in the pile next to the fridge... but that's my life, not well organized. :o :sry: to my wife.....

Keep powder in factory containers and sealed, primers in their respective containers, bullets as I mentioned above. Prefer should last years after being opened if you only open it when pouring some out then recap immediately. My father has not had any problems in 50 years or so of reloading and he stores his stuff same as I do. If you are worried get a blast proof paint and chemical storage cabinet-i think somebody else mentioned that-but doesn't seem to be necessary.
