I don't think anyone knows the answer, but it's worth it to know what peoples general feel for the population is. I think 31-50 statewide.

confirmed by wdfw or talked about by the people on these boards?
i voted.

I voted 51--100..
theres alot of territory...but hell....who knows! :dunno: :chuckle:

Good question- I'm not sure how many the WDFW has confirmed? It's also likely that the same animal gets confirmed twice...
-
I imagine the pop. probably varies alot along the boarders!!! From canada and also the ones coming from idaho...But I would say their are alot if the wdfw is confirming they are here!!!

Took a guess....

I picked 100-200, total guess, but there is a lot of wild remote country that you just cant patrol or know everything about.
I've never seen or herd one in this state.

WAG.... 20 breeding pairs + some others. WhoTF knows though :dunno: ?
-
You should have clarified breeding pairs vs. transients, lot more transient visitor's -and no one really knows exactly how many, but quite a few. Take a grain of salt with the DFW reports.

There's more then they admit

A friend of mine lives in the Okanogan. He says that he will run into them everyonce in a while. They are not an issue yet, but he is keeping an eye on it.

The other day in the local paper, I read that IDFW says there are 800+ wolves in Idaho!
