I think Shockey was hunting those a few episodes back. Sounds like they are pretty elusive and a rare sight.

Yeah, that's Oxbow Bend in Grand Teton Natl. Park.  There are moose everywhere.  I was shooting this scene last year and a cow/calf pair popped out on that peninsula in the middle of the photo.  They are everywhere there.  It use to not be so popular, but now it's overrun with photo geeks.

I'm the reflection in this one.  Kind of creepy.  I'm standing shooting vertical.  See Huntnphool's daughter on her knees in the black?  The house door is also in the black area.

Title: Re: reflections
Post by: runamuk on February 09, 2009, 05:43:45 PM
Well that sure looks like Baby but albino retic's do look similar  ;)  the snake guy out of the sultan area has a gorgeous and pretty gentle retic her name is baby, we saw her at school in CleElum several times, at school in Stanwood and at birthday parties.  He also has Spike the very cool iguana, and a few less nifty devenomized snakes, gaboon viper, cobra, rattlesnakes. shudder. yuck.... I'm a bit of a reptile geek which turned out to be handy with boys  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Cool 10 more feet to go to reach full size  ;) they are big snakes and can have quite the tempers (as can be seen back in the bloody arm photo)  Have you seen the normal retic's at woodland park in the reptile house?  One of them was near 26 feet and was once a pet but became too much for the owners and the zoo ended up with it......

I love the constrictors they are such interesting snakes....

Title: Re: reflections
Post by: popeshawnpaul on February 09, 2009, 06:34:08 PM
Yeah, I didn't get very close to him either.  I'm not much of a snake guy but it was fun to take a few photos...  Here are a few more.  I hope Joe doesn't mind me sharing.

Ok, here's another reflection shot.  What I like about this one is how the duck's eye is reflected so many times.

Here's a couple from the archives.  Oxbow Bend and Schwabacher Landing.  Anxious to revisit these places at the end of the month!

That's a nice Bufflehead image!  Those ducks are really tough to expose properly.  Great work!

Thanks Tom!!  You are right, under expose so you don't blow the whites then post process to bring out the irridescence.  Still tricky on these little guys.

Well probably not completely in the spirit of the thread title, but there are tree reflections in the pic!

From two Saturdays ago on a fish planting expedition.  The last 1/2 hour or so before the sun went behind the mountain. My hiking buddy casting to some nice cutthroat.

Sure do!  Here's one from my honeymoon this past spring.  Pintails are some of my favorites.

By the way, that's a very nice Whitetail, Doug.  Looks like he was very tolerant of you being there.

You can't take a better picture. Period. 'Nough said.
