Because they will bite you.  The way these hunts work is the dogs find the hog, then you dump "catch dogs" to grab and hold the hog.  You walk in and figure out if you want to kill it if keep it, they sell them to the meat markets.
In the meantime you tie them up.

It's just a drag to pull the dead hog out the bush

It probably has to do with those tusks that will cut you and they do bite too

There is a guy in Hawaii that runs these types of hunts and you use a knife, It's on my list if we ever go back.  Just sounds too fun to pass up.
Found out about it after we were ready to head back home  :(

I want to knife one. :rockin:

Why don't you book a hunt in Texas then they just killed 6 hogs in 3 hours recently and to book you put a 50 dollar deposit

This is a nice pig killed a couple nights ago the thing that is nice is its not sitting in a stand waiting for pigs coming to you which you might not see any pigs or just small pigs charging 250 daily rate

Daily rates go as high as $500 in TX. I looked into a hunt and decided not to go because of the cost and it's just sitting on a feeder.

Yes I have hunted Texas for pigs and it was 250 a day for 3 day hunt and come home empty handed but I also missed a couple nice pigs with my bow. It was a long time ago and I would have smoked them now lol. This is $150 a person not a day and just pay for the meat which you can keep going until you are done so if you want a couple pigs there is no limit

Where is my guys that want fill the freezer with wild boar meat the experience is not your traditional hunt but I guarantee it will just as much fun.

why not just kill the hog instead of tying it up first?  Seems like you have a better chance of getting bit doing that than just killing it. Just trying to get an idea on how the hunt works.

That pig with a belt is dead its to make it easier to pack it out of the woods

You tie the hog when you want to keep it alive.  Then strap the mouth to keep it from biting every damn thing in sight.

There is a market for live hogs in TX, they sell for ~$.50 per pound.  When we hunt we kill the big boars and keep most of the small ones alive to sell.

Thank you Sir for explaining that very well, they will sell the meat overseas because Europeans love their pork schnitzel I would like to see a group of guys from Hunt Wa go down and give it a try so you can post the pictures and share your experiences with everyone else I am giving this hunt away for cost and people still are complaining about the smallest things the question is do you want wild organic meat on the off season if that is you then we need to book your hunt.

Most people bring their own spear but the outfitter is looking into purchasing spears for his clients

i know several ranches where sitting on a feeder is the least amount of hunting that you do. there is a lot of night hunting as well as spot and stalk.

The thing about this hunt is your on the ground no blinds or high seats and you are going to get a workout because you are running and keeping up with the dogs and the best part about this hunt is your GUARANTEED PIGS compared to paying 500 bucks a day and you might get a chance or shoot a small pig and might have a limit for pigs a day, this hunt you don't have a limit you go until your hearts desires and you are not praying to the Pig God to have a pig show up on the stand

You can do a combo of spearing hogs and fishing it's 300 bucks a person and a guarantee you will get hogs and .50 a lb with no limit you go until you want to stop in north Texas you fly into Dallas and it's 2 hours from there which is year around
