Wolf caught on camera in Waconda 03/02/2016 7:30am.
-
Those GD animals just neeed to go away! my family used to own th 40 acres next to the cemetary back in the day. Too bad we had to let it go!
-
Friends have a cabin in the area. Few cameras in the area too I believe wonder if they've gotten any pics.
-
I know a few folks in Waconda that use scopes instead of cameras.
-
That and the wolf killed cow elk are only about 3 miles from the brother in law's cabin. Will have to check the cams set up once we can through the snow to get back up there.
-
Nice pic!
-
Wide out in the open standing still. Perfect for crosshairs
-
i wonder which pack they will attribute that one to.
-
just another coyote :chuckle:

Probably Oregon #7.

It still makes me mad when I think about the time a neighbor had wolves trying to attack his german shepherds in a kennel in his back yard, he had to shoot in the air to scare the wolves away. The guy grew up around here seeing coyotes year around, he said the wolves were at least as large as the german shepherds they were trying to attack. I reported it WDFW, they went to the guys place, the wolves were gone but WDFW claimed it was coyotes! That pretty well explains the WDFW's handling of wolves in this state! :bash:
That's a pretty good photo, but boneaddict or haugenna are probably right, just another wolf from the Lookout Pack or OR 7, they travel a lot! :chuckle:

if the game department says they are coyotes then he can shoot them and blame it on the game dept. correct

While it may be fun to say that, I'm certain if they could prove you killed a wolf it would play out much differently. :twocents:

It looks just like the wolf I have mounted in my living room!
-
This wolf was in the pasture across the street from the old school in Waconda. Not pictured, but cows with calves were near the wolf. I'd assume the wolf was hunting etc.
-
There is a pack hanging out on Gibraltar Mt. in Republic.
-
Wow! We camp at the little rv park inbetween the church and the old school every spring! Our friends have a cabin up Cougar Ck road, guess we'll have to keep an eye out for these 'mega-coyotes' now...
-
There's been wolves in that country since 2008 or prior even. I know a gentleman who was sitting in a tree stand over there hunting whitetails in the late season in 2008 and had a jet black one walk by has stand.
-
We started seeing them in Republic around 2005 or so.

Doesn't surprise me.

Probably Salmo

Chesaw/Molson area is one of my favs. In W.A. I've seen tracks that make me think there is a herd of St Bernard's running around up there and no established pack.
Hey, what tha hell do i know!

Could be that those rascals have been there a long time. I know all the ranchers darn near from Curlew to Wauconda and these wolves have been in that area for a long time. They hear them all the time howling up there and finally, someone got a picture of one. They might be part of the Profanity Pack that was confirmed, by the WDFW and then let then disappear off the face of the earth after confirming them 2 years ago. We have not heard one iota about them since, strange huh ?

USFW or WDFW released 6 wolves on Sherman Pass area in the 80's and rumor has it that they were all killed by hunters and cattlemen.
-
Saw this on facebook last week hope that it just keeps moving into Canada and stays there!!

:bfg: :bfg:Whoever took this picture should be ashamed of themselves. Enough said!
