Title: WA licensing questions.
Post by: ellsworth on January 28, 2009, 10:44:07 AM
Hey folks,
I just moved here last june, so i'm a little sketchy on how the applications work.  I know that in WI we had applications to get into a specific turkey season, so is that how it works for here with the multiple season apps?

I want to apply for a multi season tag, do I buy that now for next season?  Or is the date past?

Also the special hunt tags?  Are those for only specific units if you get pulled for them?

Turkey tags, do I just by one over the counter if I have a small game license?  I can't do it online now without buying everything over again so I want to make sure I do it right for the multiple season stuff for deer as well.

Thanks for any help,

Ellsworth

Go here: http://wdfw.wa.gov/faq/multi-season_hunting.htm (http://wdfw.wa.gov/faq/multi-season_hunting.htm) for multi-season info.

For turkey, the only special permits are for the fall season.  Spring season is over the counter.  You can get a tag when you buy you small game licens.

Thanks for the link slayer, I tried to find it on the WDFW but man that website is kind of scattered.

Thanks for the turkey info.

You also need to take a look at the hunting proposals currently in process for the 2009 season.  I believe the multi-season tags are to change from a draw to a first-come first-served purchase. And bumped up 100 for elk and 500 for deer.

Man..really?  That would be great but difficult to snag one I bet.  I wonder when that will go through cause online they still have it the application way, I would hate to grab two apps for deer and elk, then buy them later.

Thanks the information.

You might be surprised; I've heard of several people who drew last year but backed out when they found it cost additional dollars.
