I just wanted to introduce myself and my business to all members...I was formerly known as "Fish Slapper" . I have been fishing and hunting in the PNW since 1995 when I was stationed at Ft Lewis and have had the opportunity to fish and hunt over the area. I have killed elk in Wa, Oregon and Colorado and absolutely love to shoot ducks and birds over my dog "Scout". I offer trips for steelhead, salmon, sturgeon, halibut, lingcod, sea bass and TUNA! I have a brand new 26.5 ft Alumaweld Columbia for river fishing and a custom built 30 ft off shore fiberglass boat for tuna, halibut and other deep water adventures. I use what I feel is the best equipment available and always strive to provide the safest and most memorable experience I can. I have over 15 years experience crossing the Columbia River bar and operating a boat in the Pacific Ocean and I sincerely do offer great trips especially for live bait albacore fishing. My ocean boat "Pacific Addiction" was built for me in 2011 primarily for tuna fishing and the use of live bait, she hold between 40 -50 albacore in her insulated fish holds and my live bait tank is 120 gallons! I have all of the required safety equipment plus more, I do not allow alcohol on off shore trips and I require life vest to be worn on all boats all of the time for your safety. I provide 100 % electric reels for halibut and deep water bottom fishing and always take the highest pride in the care of your catch from the time it hits the deck until it goes in your cooler. I have had over a 35 fish per trip average the last 3 years for tuna trips and do very , very well for all other species. I am currently fishing steelhead on the Cowlitz and will be fishing spring Chinook on the Columbia in the next few weeks. Tuna and fall trips such as "buoy 10" will book up early so if interested please do not hesitate and contact me with your questions. I still have some Neah Bay halibut seats available as well but they will go quickly in the next few weeks when people start talking about halibut fishing. I also fish Halibut out of Ilwaco if that is of any interest to you.

What area's on the Columbia are you fishing for fall salmon?

We will fish Buoy 10 for sure and after that depends on the run of fish . I only plan to fish a very limited schedule between October and the beginning of March due to hunting and boat/tackle maintenance . I would normally chase silvers on the Cowlitz and Chehalis but after this years non existent run I do not have allot of faith in this up coming season . I have fished above Bonneville in the past but again it really depends on the run and how many fish are around. .If the weather and fish cooperate I will be chasing tuna well into September but will definitely keep an eye on fall salmon in the tribs or upriver and if the fishing is decent we will definitely give it a shot. I honestly prefer to chase spring Chinook up the Columbia if the run is a decent size all the way to John Day dam .

What's the best time of year for tuna ? I went once with a charter and the boat caught 7 total . How far in advance do you have to reserve the boat .

I started catching tuna last year July 3rd so its hard to say for sure but August is pretty much a sure fire deal as long as the weather cooperates. I have been catching tuna by mid July for the last several years so I will start booking dates based on that. The sooner the better I am starting to book up for August and I expect all dates will be gone by early June. If you can get a party of 5 together you will be the only ones on the boat and not have to worry about a mixed trip but if you do not have that many no worries I will fit you in with others. I expect to fish until at least mid September as well and possibly longer.

I am having my website rebuilt as we speak so I can add a "blog" so people can see how the fishing is going, where we are at and what the catch rates are!
Right now I am catching steelhead on the Cowltz, fishing is pretty decent but the water levels fluctuating makes it hard to really hammer them daily.
