I'm looking for a battery charger that will handle automotive and marine batteries. I would like it to have an "automatic" mode so it doesn't overcharge. I'm looking at a small optima model that's around $100 that sounds like a pretty nice one. I'm pretty sure the last one I had helped ruin a couple batteries by overcharging. Anyone have a recommendation?

I use a Batter Tender dual bank trickle charger.

I just ordered this one.
http://www.amazon.com/SOLAR-PL2310-Pro-Logix-Battery-Charger/dp/B007P7ABE6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457828742&sr=8-1&keywords=pl2310
Consider the 2320 if you need 20amp charging.

I have the same one, had it about a year now. Got mine from the local Cornwell tool guy. No issues so far, just used it last weekend to charge up the 4wheeler battery.

Thanks guys, that sounds like a good one. Having Solar in the name threw me off. I'm guessing it's not a solar charger

Correct, its not solar powered in any way.
