I like the sidearms for archery, dislike Entiat and swakane being only 32 permits for late archery( real bummed about swakane going to permit)
-
I also like the new rule allowing sidearms during the archery season and dislike any of the shortening of the seasons for archery.
-
No public land bear hunting in August is *censored*.
Swakane archery going from a general season to permit only is good, but I do believe they could have given a couple hundred or so permits. That still would be a drastic reduction in the hunting pressure it's seen in the last several years during the late archery season.
I'm fine with the any bullet being legal for muzzleloader although if they would have stayed with the all lead bullets I would have been okay with that as well.
-
Just remembered a couple more, the lead shot ban in certain areas and also the ban on the use of hounds for coyotes.

I let them know what I thought and I think a lot of other people have done the same.
-
So have I, just trying to get more people to do the same... you can see in my last post in other forums.....

I might be the minority but I'm happy with limiting the # of rut hunts. Imagine how good the early high hunt could be if there were that many more bucks around. It would give everyone a shot at a bruiser high mountain buck, you'd just have to work a little harder at it, which to me iis what it's all about.
I also like the ideas of more opportunity for muzzleloaders but I don't think they need to shorten early archery just to do that.
-
you'll all know what I dislike. What I like......sidearms for archery. Updated muzz regs so that they can be used in modern.
-
I can't believe no one has mentioned the new late rut whitetail permit only hunts.
I am in the minority but for the most part I like the proposals overall. There are definately some things I'm not crazy about but most of them I can live with.
-
With bear populations being so high, along with many other factors, limiting hunting in August is a horrible idea. Especially because the reasoning is to comfort hikers??Give me a F$#@in break. There are hikers in Oct. too, are they gunna do something with other seasons in the future? We as hunters do far more than any other group to improve habitat, manage populations, etc. Why do others get the benefit? I hate the way this state is ran, and all of the morons in it..... >:(

Like many, I'm pissed that the game dept is *censored*ting on our thought of wanting to have trophy hunts when we draw a deer tag. Entiat: Rifle hunters get Nov 1-24. Muzzleloaders get Nov 25-30. So after the rifle guys have been banging on them for 24 days at long range, muzzleloaders get to go in there for five days and try to get within 100 yard.???????
I'm not a fan of the rifle season moved back. I guess their mentality is to kill all the deer we can??? As far as the new muzzleloader regs, I was fine with them how they were, but I'm fine with the proposed ones as well... besides axing the 578 late hunt.

The modern firearm deer season wasn't "moved back." It just happened to fall a week later this year.
-
I dont like the increased modern tags in some of the units, doesn't bother me at all that they are giving a few more days for the hunters. I thought they should decrease all late tags for every weapon. I love the general season for the modern firearm areas that I hunt.
-
I like the fact that they gave muzzy a few more options and some more hunting time........I dislike the fact that they cut archery season way back....
-
as a muzle hunter in this state i like the extra options and and added permits as a bear hunter its sad that aug.on public land is off limits we all know its the wrong reaction to last years tragedy.and personally i think they should eliminate all rut hunts for mule deer in this state.that of course is my own :twocents:
-
"Moved back" or not, it falls a week later for the next three years than it has for the last couple, and there is the week space between muzzleloader elk and modern rifle. I guess that is what I meant, whatever you want to call that.

I'm an archery hunter. I like that they have given a few permits to the rifle hunters during the rut. That is very fair especially since so few are given out. I like the muzzle loader bullets thing although either way would have been fine. I don't like how the Colockum is "true spike" this is not the answer to the problem there and will only create a bunchof 1X2's being left in the field and wasted. I don't like archery being cut back. We need all the time we can get. I know many here doesn't understand how hard archery hunting is but we need all the time we can get. I also don't like how archers don't get to hunt during the rut. I also don't like how there still isn't any cow permits given out in the Colockum. Also the bear thing is stupid. I'm still suuper psyched for 2009 though. Only 7 months and 6 days until opening day of elk. :rockin: :rockin:
