Anyone have a wenaha tag.? Wondering what the snow is like and how the green up is coming along. Usually mid May is go time but it has been pretty warm a few different times this spring so curious. Probably be some turkey hunters over there that can give a report....
-
Don't have a tag. As for snow on the Pomeroy side the son was up in the mountains yesterday and he said he turned around between Stentz Spings and Clearwater because of snow. If it's the section of road I'm thinking of it drifts in pretty good. Looking at the forest from near town the snow looks patchy.

Mid to late may before you get over the 40 road just came from lick creek lots of snow
-
I've been over. Hope one gets it this week. Should be fun. It's green.

I have a tag headed over in a week or two

Spruce Springs SnoTel says no snow since 4/20. Anyone been up lately to confirm how far Rd. 40 is open?
-
I came in from the Asotin side, however you cannot make it to the intersection of 41/42. I talked to the FS on Friday and they said there's a good drift that shuts most off at Stentz Springs.
It was 35 and pouring rain Saturday where we were at. Wow.

Wish I had the spring bear wenaha tag, guess I will just have to relive last year in my mind.
-
gotcha, If you don't mind sharing, what is your access point and how are the roads?
Good luck on finding the one you want. Looking for size or color?
-
Rds have snow probably for at least 2 to 3 more weeks. Just have to walk a ways to get in unit. It can be done.

Patience Daniel son! The hunting will only get better!

Just off the 40, headed out Hard-to-get-to ridge. No bear tag, just may have an opportunity to go there this weekend. And then up to Mt Misery/trail head a bit later. Thinking about a run in the Wenaha.

Yes you do ! Did you die when you had to let all that food out the next day?

Any new road reports for the wenaha? I have a couple days I can hunt this next week but not enough to go in at three forks so hoping I can drive in on skyline and hunt from the top. Heard you can get to Godman but wondering how much farther towards the west a guy can drive. Tks

Pomeroy side heard this evening that you still can't get to Misery
