Mine says not successesfull for big game combo but above it says retained deer tag.

You are correct. That was the only thing we could figure. His dad did the same and did receive a deer tag. We jumped to a conclusion. Thanks
On a better note I drew my first choice bull tag! Stoked! Even though its not a difficult tag to draw, I'm still excited.

I'm hoping there will be surplus deer combination licenses. An opportunity opened up after the application deadline. I contacted the MT FWP and they said "If there are any surplus licenses, we are trying to get them up for online sale on May 8th."
I'm sure there will be some for sale, there have been in every year since the changes in 2011.

Im turning mine in since I did not draw a permit and have plans in Colorado this year. Theres one extra license you will have a shot at :tup:

I received mine too, I felt so welcome by Montana compared to Washington. There was a nice letter that I read word by word and hunting sounded so exciting, this year will be my first out of Washington hunting experience. So excited.
