Like him or not, the dude was seriously talented. Sad day. Kind of makes Chyna's death back page news (if it wasn't already!)
-
He did ROCK. and very talented.
-
His Purple Rain concert was one of the best I've been too, and the lace the ladies were wearing...... :yike:
-
Heard it on the radio a bit ago; a shocking loss for certain. Of note is that he played almost all the instruments on his first 5 albums, and, was self taught for the most part. He was one of those artists who's music wasn't stereotyped by race, similar to J Hendrix, to his listening audience. Yes, I'm saddened that such a gifted artist is gone at such a young age. RIP Prince.
-
He'd canceled a concert last week and made an emergency landing in IL due to what his press guys said was the flu. I guess the money and fame doesn't matter much when it's time to go. He sure was talented.
-
Talented, but nuttier than a damn fruitcake.
This interview would be funny, if it were not so sad:

I don't know, JD, he seems very well spoken to me in that interview. (Although I shut it down when he mentioned the word "chemtrails." I won't go there.)
-
We may find out someday that we've been on the wrong side of that discussion. I'm not a chemtrail guy either, but it wouldn't be the first time our government has done something like that to us without our knowledge. He was extremely well-spoken and intelligent.

:yeah: Yea, I am kinda of a chemtrail guy, but not a fanatic. Believe or trust our government? Not a chance. RIP Prince...
-
Chyna was found dead today as well; I thought that she was much more entertaining than the artist formerly known as Prince was.
RIP both of you.
-
Prince was a one of a kind for sure. Sad deal.
-
To each their own. Dissing a dead guy over for another dead guy. Unique approach, CP. :chuckle:

Are you sure about which one was a guy?

:yeah: :chuckle:

What may seem odd to one person, can be another persons normal. As I've gotten older I've learned to be much more tolerant to other peoples likes and dislikes.
I can't say I was a huge fan of Prince but, whether you liked him or thought he was a total flake, there is no denying Prince was wildly talented and at only 57, far to young to pass away. RIP
-
RIP Prince! Saw him in MN many years ago....awesome show!
-
IMO one of the best Superbowl performances that I can remember, poured on him and he kept on singing.
-
Who in the hell is Chyna? :dunno:

Who in the hell is Chyna? :dunno:
WWE wrestler and actress

That wrestler was a chick? Sorry ma'am. Don't hurt me.
-
One of my favorites - crazy talented!
Sad to see him go so young.
-
-
Both of them were women? Or just the one?
-
-
If you haven't seen it, "true Hollywood stories, prince" you should check it out. Pretty freakin funny.
RIP Prince. Popular in my youth, had some pretty good toe tappin tunes.

I'm not Plat, but I can use google. ;) Apparently she was in porn:
"In June 2011, Chyna released her first adult video with Vivid Entertainment called, Backdoor to Chyna (2011), which sold over a million copies. She said the movie allowed her to regain control of her life, gave her a newfound confidence and got her back on her feet. "

I'm sure Plat did know the answer.

Used to go see at first ave in Twin Cities in the early 80's
Great guitar player, talented musician and a good Christian republican
-
Flu? Really?
-
Who in the hell is Chyna? :dunno:
I had to google it, she's a muscled up porn queen that wrestled
-
Hands down the most talented musician ever.
-
Not necessarily a fan but used to work security at the gorge when I was in college. Was Center stage security at his show and he put on a hell of a performance. Dude was tiny but could rock.

drugs are bad mmm k

On another note...............Lord, I apologize for that one there, and please be with all the starving Pygmies down there in New Guinea! Sorry, trying to lighten the mood :chuckle:

Well played. RIP, Prince.

Flu? Really?
He had epilepsy as a child. Had heard rumors over the past few months that maybe it was reappearing. Not sure how or if the flu could compound that affliction. But he was not a drug user from any reliable source I can find. A lot of reliable sources to the contrary though. Sounds like a pretty cool dude. Definitely a gifted performer. Gone way too soon!
I found it interesting that his former protégé passed away in February at age 57 also. Of course that was due to complications from a kidney transplant after extensive drug use. Anyone remember her performance on the tv show Highlander? She got a bad rap for her acting, but she was a badarse in that episode!

Not sure I will give much attention to a Daily Mail claim of an overdose. Although it's possible to overdose on just about anything. Even over the counter cold and flu medications. I'm content to wait for coroners report on this one.

Dunno who youre talking about, but if the new deal is the "57 club" it beats the hell out of the "27 club" that has so many members.

She was also did some porn according to Wikipedia, so check it out and see for yourself to see the plumbing. :chuckle:

I saw her spread (pun intended) in Playboy many years ago. My Grandpa had a subscription and I used to read the pictures whenever we visited.
Not to be an a$$ in his passing but will we be calling him the "Artist Formerly Know as Price" again? I remember when he was called that after he changed his name to a symbol.

He did the name thing to get out from under a recording contract. :chuckle:

The story behind the whole "Artist formerly known as Prince" and the symbol is rather fascinating. Either he was super smart or he had some super smart people working for him. Maybe both! I wasn't a huge fan of the music, but I gained respect for Prince after that ordeal. Good read if anyone likes intellectual property mysteries. :chuckle:
-
I remember being on deployment to Prince Sultan Air Base Saudi Arabia on New Year's Day 1999 parting like it was 1999. :rockin:
-
RIP Prince!
Sad, totally sad. So fricken talented. Right up there with Michael Jackson and Jimmy Hendrix. And what a class act compared to some current entertainers.
The Super Bowl show was ridiculously over the top awesome. Props and respect. RIP.

:jacked: Start your own thread about her and her "Spread"! She should not even be mentioned here.
-
I'm reading it may have been complications with a flu shot or Tamiflu treatments and his epilepsy. From what I understand he wasn't a drug user at all.
-
I never realized he was such a smart well spoken guy! Sad deal.... RIP Prince
-
He was a really good basketball player too. Him and his band.
-
drugs are bad mmm k
He didn't do drugs.
-
It's coming out now (TMZ is the source I think) that he was addicted to painkillers after his hip surgery in 2010.. Percaset (sp?) was mentioned. The brief news snippet also said that he had to be revived a few days back, and, was seen pacing outside Walgreens a handful of times over the past week (getting scripts refilled). None of this is verified.
-
Miracle of miracles! He has been reincarnated!

Eric Clapton was once asked "What's it like to be the world's greatest guitarist?" Clapton replied "I don't know. You should ask Prince."

So where is your proof that he overdosed from ANY kind of drug? Please back up your shallow statement.

It's little Nikki's fault.
-
The Sherriff of the county where Prince was found is making a statement right now on ABC. Because it was an unwitnesed death, they processed the scene as a normal procedure. Autopsy is happening today. The medic units preformed CPR and pronounced him dead shortly after 10am yesterday. The Serriff just said that they are ruling out suicide.

If you want proof, just head on over to the poached bull elk thread. It's 40+ pages of unmistakable, undeniable proof spoken by a bunch of folks that were not there, but knew someone who was, or at least knew someone that "is close to the situation".

Johnny Cash was an addict so when he died just another doper musician? :dunno:
And why is it all UK "news" that are screaming it was drugs he died in the US wouldnt it be up to a US coroner to decide cause of death. CNN also not the best is reporting autopsy results will take up to 4 weeks so how is it everyone in England already knows :o :dunno:

So did he OD or not?
It does seem luke a really large percentage of super talented musicians OD. Maybe that's not true statistically, but it sure feels that way.

The other thing that seems to be floating around is that he died of sleep deprivation. So maybe not a traditional overdose on drugs, but drug influenced lack of sleep. I read he'd been awake for a week straight.

Because those are the stories that make headlines.
